Yep and this is at least a "good sign".

IMHO Putin will take a win when he takes Kyiv (be this real or not), then go home, he will pitch to the home audience how triumphant they have been, removed the neo-Nazi's, he can then use the sanctions as proof of how bad the west is how much they hate us, it is the wests fault and this is on of the reasons we did this.

As bad as things are now, I feel worse is down the road, Russia will regroup and the next attempt will be more successful.

I want to see spending on anti balistic missile and missile defense systems ramped up, we need to counter the one threat held over us, and that's nuclear weapons.

Also I do feel Russia has legitimate concerns, they have just gone the wrong way about resolving it.

Well maybe in this thread by people looking for some excuse to moan about the Tories etc..

:cry: Its hardly like people are having to reach for reasons to complain is it. Its just one thing after another with this government.

And as someone already pointed out Putin wasn't talking about us applying sanctions but making lots of noise calling for them.

It is worked on, it’s why nuclear proliferation became worse and worse and why Russia has pushed for hypersonic missiles because missile defence eliminates MAD which makes the situation more rather than less likely to happen.

Let’s hope you’re right about Kyiv.

Absolutely. Some way or another we need an anti nuke force. It's much more important than anything else. Troops, tanks etc become much less important when your only real threats are WMDs

Putin is sabre rattling when it comes to nukes.

If he was stupid enough to try to launch one it most likely wouldn't get out of Russian airspace before it was destroyed.

No, he's talking about all of it; supplying weapons, applying sanctions, leading the call for other nations to do the same:

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/breaking-russia-threatens-britain-directly-26395362
Spokesperson Maria Zakharova warned: “Russia will not forget Britain's desire to co-operate with ultra-nationalist forces in Ukraine and the supply of British weapons to the Kyiv regime.

"The sanctions hysteria in which London plays one of the leading, if not the main, roles, leaves us no choice but to take proportionately tough retaliatory measures. London has made a final choice of open confrontation with Russia.

"Such a development convinces us once more that Russophobia and the aim to undermine the Russian state are integral elements of Britain's foreign policy."

Zakharova previously accused the BBC of playing "a determined role in undermining the Russian stability and security", after it announced it was suspending the work of its journalists in Russia as authorities passed legislation cracking down on foreign outlets.

The UK hasn't forgotten the assassinations orders on UK soil, the radioactive isotope in London, the nerve agent in Salisbury... I think the supply of weapons to Ukraine and the training of troops has more than paid Russia back for those incidents.

Zelenskyy's video from today trolling Putin:

Context (quote from reddit because nothing else is necessary lol):
Putin released the video recently that shows him at a table with some students, but it was shown to be a fake video that Putin made to show he wasn’t cowering away somewhere. Putin’s hand in the video actually goes through the microphone. So Zelensky showed he’s actually real, by moving the mic.
