Honestly, I'm amazed at the way society is heading judging by some of the comments in this thread. It's a crazy time to be alive. I guess because I'm not on social media I haven't encountered this kind of toxicity before but some of you are... well, probably best I don't continue.

Maybe you're just all so desensitised to this kind of thing that it doesn't even register. You're so utterly entrenched in the system that any challenge to that must be stamped out, and that's really worrying behaviour.

We should encourage discussion, fill the gaps in our knowledge. Maybe some things won't turn out to be true, maybe some things will but we should at least ask questions, challenge the narrative.

Do we really trust the media so blindly? Again, worrying. Who funds the media? Who funds the 'fact-checkers'? What are THEIR interests?

To ask questions is to be met with being called right-wing, a bot, a putin supporter, having russian handlers and personal insults.

Just take a pause for a second, if that's you, what are you doing?!

I dunno man, if this is how you debate issues then good luck to you.

It is a crazy narrative they are generating.
I guess in theory if they 'win' they can say whatever they like, but this seems to be a failing swansong for Putin, and personally, I hope it is.
For the sake of the Russian people as much as for the Ukrainians.

Twist??? They have resorted to outright fiction!
I have been wondering at what level do they start believing this as honest truth. How far down the command structure does it turn from simply towing the party line to actual believing what they are spouting? I mean... its just so bizarre.
I want to think that even down as far as some lowly privates must not be buying it, just going along with it for fear of being locked up.

Who else? China have probably long since overtaken the US as the largest economy, maybe not officially yet but a lot of people predict they will overtake the US by 2030 or earlier, as well as many predict the US economy could hit a wall at some point again like the last financial crisis. As for Russia, It's a buyer's market and Russia will just open its markets to China and sell them resources under Yuan, not in dollars.
 
Unbeknownst to many China and it's recent actions to recentralise is not a sign of empowerment, it's a sign of decline.

The problem is that declining powers are the most dangerous.

Everyone and anyone that wants Cheap gas and oil, so I reckon most of the west will forget about it when it comes to keeping the lights on and their electorate starts to become "unsettled" due to mental energy price hikes.
