The weaponisation of monetary systems by the West is going to push large portions of the World into China's arms far faster than was already happening. Next time this type of thing happens we won't be looking to the US to pull the strings because they will have been cut. China is winning this war.

If you look at the countries which have turned to China (Montenegro for instance) - China doesn't nurture them, doesn't grow trade and so on, investments are to get their grips in and in the longer run those countries are the worst for it. In the longer term there is no win there.
 
@Rroff The other day the EU was spending 600m Euro's a day on gas up from a pre war 200m Euros. Now imagine those transfer going through China's new payment system. It begins to build scales of economy and China is far more non-interference than the US. You can well imagine Iran, Russia, Venezuela and other major petrochem naughty boys moving out of US control. I don't disagree that China is no great friend but they aren't an active enemy for many of the international crazy gang. Likewise Visa and Masercard have pulled out of Russia and China's equivalent is moving in. The bigger the pool of users the more attractive it becomes. It will be an interesting few years. I worry we're now moving toward a post global bi-polar World again.
 
With Zelensky coming out about not joining NATO and the issues with the disputed regions, i imagine there might be a chance of a deal soon.

Russia must realise that this is not sustainable for them, and the longer this goes on, the more and more costly it is going to get.
