I have said if NATO put troops into Ukraine, which is Putin's red line, there is a very high liklehood that Russia will respond with a tactile battlefield nuke or two and take out the invading troops.

Pretty sure he will not care his own troops are in the firing line as long as the invading troops are taken out.

Personally I do not see NATO responding to that with an overtly offensive nuclear launch themselves.

IF and it is a big IF Russia launch Nukes directly to a NATO country then we might get all out nuclear war.

I doubt NATO forces would just walk in, with those types of weapons within firing range from Russia. They’d likely know where they all were and take them out along with anti air defences, before putting troops on the ground.
