 The humanity surprises me. Yes they have been bombed to smithereens but what if they spill tea on the carpet.

It's not that. You don't know who they are. You don't know their habits, you don't know their history. You don't know how they're going to behave in 1-2 weeks let alone 1-2 months when they relax. You don't know who else they'll invite along.

it's hard enough finding flatmates, you don't invite people into your home off the streets.

Practicality / looking after your own interests > emotions

Play This War of Mine and you'll see that in times of desperation people will screw each other over when the going gets really tough.

It's a risk you either accept or you don't.

Exactly, I choose not to. Certainly not for £350. That'll be gone in a week on extra food, maybe clothes and provisions, maybe they need a new phone, maybe they beg you to send some money home. Who knows. And then good luck trying to remove them from your property. Or wait till you come back from work and they've disappeared along with a chunk of your valuables. Fun.

I wouldn't have a Ukrainian refugee in my home. Inviting someone in off the streets and giving them a key to your house doesn't sound like a great idea to me.

Not something which will go down well with some, and does have considerations domestically for the countries involved as well, but we'd be far better off setting up an easier program for people from Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania to come and live and work in the UK, at least temporarily medium to long term, so as to open up more job and housing opportunities in those countries for refugees who as a generalisation probably want to stay closer to friends and family and/or are more familiar with those countries (and also ease some of our potential problems like lorry driver shortages :s).

The photo on DM this morning of a Pregnant civilian injured and later died breaks my heart..how long are they going to let this go on for?

Basically until the Russians win and take over (then it won't end either and just turn into an insurgency) or lose and pull out.

Or until Putin goes full cray cray and drags all of NATO into a war by attacking one of it's members and then it'll be 20x worse.

I’ll post where I want thanks when it’s relevant to the potential UK response to “associated parties” to Russia.
I suspect we’ll be less willing to sanction India if it openly trades with Russia than other Western nations due to our stated goal of being closer with India as part of Brexit.

Okay........

Or the UN finds its balls, holds a vote with Russia as the aggressor excluded on supporting Ukraine if they request it on giving Russia 24 hours to leave or sending a large scale international peacekeeping force special operation to protect the country.

Otherwise we might as well wind up the UN it serves no purpose.

(Sure there is a chance of nuclear war)

Just take a moment to drink in the sheer stupidity of this statement, people.

That's right, the source you should be looking to for how refugees are likely to act is a computer game. There really isn't a facepalm big enough.
