Looks like there was Dutch foreign legion forces killed in that attack on the training base near the Polish border. That’s the 1st direct attack by Russia on NATO forces. I’m assuming the Dutch foreign legion are counted as part of NATO forces.

I agree they could, but our government are not going to do that, they will have to drag it through the courts as well if they grow a spine
 
Mr Deripaska could draft in some embassy staff to kick ass in the middle of the night. Assuming the house is furnished there could be valuable stuff knocking about.

The attack happened within the Ukrainian border. They knew the risk and I don't see anyone in NATO is going to war over that.

There is no such thing as the Dutch foreign legion anymore. They were Dutch former soldiers/citizens in a foreign legion. If there were actual nato troops in Ukraine it would get spicy very quickly.

The UN sent an entire multinational force into Rwanda. Many members of that force were from neighbouring African nations. They did what they could within the narrow terms of their remit, but they had no capacity to stop a civil war.

The one country that deserves plenty of blame for her failure to intervene appropriately is France, which was deeply involved with the former Rwandan administration, and could have rescued thousands of Tutsis during Opération Amaryllis. Instead she chose to rescue expatriates (while leaving their Tutsi spouses behind to die) and members of the Rwandan government.

France later launched Opération Turquoise, but by that time the genocide was coming to an end, and she only succeeded in saving an additional 15,000 lives.

For a first hand account of UN involvement, read Roméo Dallaire's book, Shake Hands with the Devil: The Failure of Humanity in Rwanda. It's the best you'll find on this subject, written by the Canadian force commander of the UN peacekeeping mission.

France kept fighting even after her government had been forced into exile and replaced by a Nazi-controlled puppet, so your joke isn't even historically accurate.

Absolutely, but it couldn't happen to a more appropriate target.
 
Good video here by ColdFusionTV. The full damage of the sanctions on the global economy is something we are yet to see and are unkown.
Russia defaulting on their debts could cause a large chain reaction of events and its unknown who will get hit the hardest at the end of that chain reaction.
Another unknown is how this will affect the strength of the US dollar going forward which could weaken the geopolitical strength of the USA.

Wrt to the dollar it was going to happen at some point, might as well force the issue and try to exploit opportunities to weaken others in the process.

It was just a joke man no need to take it seriously. I'm well aware of the history of the marquis, 1000s were tortured to death sometimes by the traitors that joined the Nazis, but most never give the names of their fellow resistance fighters, Brave men and women.
