That's insane and totally unthinkable before this all unfolded.

In storage is basically a scrap yard - the combat vehicles could be used, but would be in a poor material condition and have the equipment they were parked up with. If you think the armour they using now is having a tough time - imagine a tank with a huge IR searchlight for its night fighting! A soldier with night vision goggles would just see the huge light at night and shoot at it....

Are you Roar in disguise? That is one of his favourite accusations when anyone criticises this government or the establishment. I don't hate my country, far from it. What I hate is our government and the establishment that protects them. We've known for years that politicians have been taking Russian oligarchs money/favours and we've just allowed it to get brushed under the carpet. It doesn't bother you that our PM went above and beyond to get the son of a Russian oligarch and ex KGB officer a peerage when our own security services warned him off? I'd question how much someone loves this country if that didn't bother them. Just because they are elected doesn't put them above criticism and if anything should make them more accountable, not less.

The thing is the regressive right have had their patriotism weaponised against them but they're generally just too stupid to realise. I mean, in the same breath Chris is saying you must be an immigrant for criticising the Govt and like the other muppet saying that you hate your country, he posts things like this

I've always been a staunch supporter of reducing the global population by a very large percentage, so why not? The current situation is embarrassing to us in the west, but predictable given all that's gone before in the realms of rampant consumerism, selling the family silver, a lack of any real nationalism and all embracing liberalism. Push some buttons...

We've walked open eyed into this, sold out, apologised to anyone who'll listen to the green or student voice, and become impotent. The Russkies know it, the Chinese know it, and we ourselves actually know it, but it's probably too late for the few statesmen left to do anything about it. Global reset is likely imminent..

Which apart from the mentally casual attitude to nuclear war  has his own oft cited criticisms of the west, which includes us and has been explicitly levelled at the UK by him many times before. But the complete lack of self awareness means that he thinks his criticism is born from patriotism not from being an immigrant.

In the same way he posts things that shows he admires Putin, then posts that people who admire Putin probably come from a broken home with no strong father figure, the lack of self awareness is hilarious

And allow them into NATO post haste.

Not if that’s in the peace agreement.

It seems that Russia has at best 3000 working tanks for the entire country, which means a conservative estimate they have lost 10% > 15% in 2 weeks in Ukraine.

(1) Rob Lee on Twitter: "More photos from that tank graveyard in Siberia. 5/ https://t.co/IdgI5uAAyb https://t.co/NiFkJMuJpj" / Twitter

Thats Russia`s `in storage` tank fleet.

If it wasn’t for the waste of life the Russian loses would be comical from a once ‘super power’.

Zelenskyy seems to be rowing back on the idea of joining NATO, I wonder if that will be enough for Russia (and a good excuse for them to get out)

A complete waste of life considering he could have made this decision before the invasion, but at least it would give Russia an easy get out. They have too few forces left to stop anyone else joining nato at least.

Looking at the potential arms sales following this, the US must be laughing.

NATO membership should not be up for debate. It's every country's sovereign right to join military partnerships. If Ukraine puts that on the table and Putin takes it, he's got all he wants.

Fast-track Ukraine into the EU, then NATO. That's got to be the priority once this war is over.

*Ukraine’s Presidential Advisor: Ukraine Has Launched Counteroffensive Actions in Several Operational Areas, Radically Changing the Situation.

What's going on right now.
1. Counteroffensive of the AFU in several operational areas. This radically changes the parties’ dispositions.
2. Russian journalists start quitting TV channels.
3. RF leaders are trying to find allies whose soldiers will be ready to die in Ukraine fields.

I was wondering if/when Ukraine would launch a counter attack, they have a lot of reservists many out of which nearly 200,000 of them having had combat experience and it's the one area where Ukraine does have a slight advantage over Russia. Tbh I honest though I didn't think they would be able to deploy the this quickly though.

Except ive seen footage of falluja where they take fire from somewhere so target that building, and theres storys of extreme close quarter combat with jihadis even fighting in hand to hand combat..... wheres Russia are killing OAPS on there way home from the shops and what appears to be completely random bombing of residential blocks, TV stations and hospitals.

Not saying America never killed civilians but they actually had rules of engagement.

I guess the difference is we don't intentionally target civilian areas as military targets but if civilians are in our way of a military objective we won't let it stop us, we'll just say sorry afterwards and call them collateral damage.

So when it comes to war, it's not that we're the good guys just lesser bad guys than the others....mostly.

"I rely on the opinion of our negotiators. They say that negotiations have not been easy for apparent reasons but still there is certain hope for reaching a compromise," Lavrov said in an interview with the RBC channel.

At least we (UK) seem to be pretty damn good at avoiding civilian casualties. The US are a different matter but they also have a habit of hitting their allies...

Not entirely true though is it. See: Middle East.

I'd hate to play poker with this Lavrov, the way he can keep a straight face when saying this **** is pro level....Freedom of Speech is important, as you're arresting protesters back at home...
