The US is sending another $800m in military aid, including armed drones, and missile defence systems. The UK is sending Sidewinder Surface-to-air missiles.

Things are going to get a lot worse for Russia.
starstreak missiles mate, sidewinders are close range air to air heat seeking missiles

Ukraine definitely needs surface to air and air to surface capabilities. Russia is truly finished if Ukraine can get this equipment in place ASAP.

He’s sounding more like hitler with each announcement. I was watching World War Two in colour earlier today and the resemblance is uncanny.

Whatever your thoughts on aspects of the US, thank goodness for their huge economy and tech that they offer to allied countries, even if it does come at a cost. I’d hate for Russia to be a lead superpower.
That's what I thought reading the post.

We don't use the Sidewinder anymore, and when we did it was only the A2A flavour (US are currently in the final testing phases of a ground launched variant). You sure you don't mean Starstreak?

I do mean Starstreak, my bad. Probably just confusing the transformers ;)

Things are going to get a lot worse for Russia.

This war has shown us that expections are a terrible thing to have, it could be worse for Russia, but it could also be worse for Ukraine if the Russians make good on their targeting supplies warning as the Yavoriv attack showed which was likely a warning that has now been ignored so Putin only really has the option to escalate

It must be Starstreak, they say it is a better version of the patriot missile system.

The new threat is these new bloody hypersonic missiles though, they are so fast that they are almost impossible to intercept

The United states being the world's only superpower is in our national interests although i still think an alliance of Britain,France and Germany would kick Russia's arse.

Well like the Armata, the SU-57 and a whole load of other projects I doubt Russia has many of these alleged missiles.

I doubt they have many to make a huge difference short of sticking a nuke on one. Ukraine is seriously lacking missile defence though and the more ground Russia takes the more tricky deployment will become.

Don't you think this war has United the western world we know who the enemy is now Russia and China.

I know one thing for sure, US economic growth is going to go through the roof with all of the arms orders coming in assuring their dominance for a lot longer.

Not bother mate they might be fast but they are Russian and will probably miss by a mile.

Technically that's a Roman salute as the footage was filmed before the Nazi's coopted it.

Nah, she made her Corgi's do it on Youtube. Scottish police will have her in jail soon.

What actually constitutes a war crime nowadays?
Is shelling a theatre which is a civilian bunker considered such out of interest?

Only a war crime if you lose the power to stay out of the courts.

I assume anything deliberately targeting civilians is.
I assume the Russians are trying to be as barbaric as possible to make the other side want to give up. Personally I think that would send me in the other direction, and I wonder if there will be less prisoners taken after the recent atrocities...
Why would you take a pilot alive after seeing them bomb a tower block, or a soldier after witnessing them mowing down people queuing for bread...

Star streak isn't a upgraded patriot, it's the UK's air defence missile: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starstreak#/media/File:Starstreak.JPG

It's a two stage - the main stage then the final stage (the little missiles) accelerate - if the kinetic impact doesn't bring it down then the small warhead in the darts will.

It’s not like Russia doesn’t have a track record for this having raped an estimated 2 million women upon conquering Berlin and countless examples since.

I agree, I can’t imagine many Ukrainians taking PoW anymore after some of the goings on by the Russians. Along the lines of ‘oops, my trigger finger slipped, oh well’.

Saab might be selling plenty of NLAW's as well poor old India will be thinking twice about buying Russian equipment as well that old saying you get what you pay for springs to mind.
