Thanks for the feedback guys :)

I missed the boat on the trade in deals unfortunately. So would just claw back a bit of money selling my OnePlus 7pro on the mm. Guess it's probably worth about £170 currently.

I only buy a new phone every three years or so. I guess I can justify it that way.

You can also get 10% off using a code. It sometimes appear on Twitter, I found one yesterday.

At last - my phone has switched to Preparing to be dispatched and the DPD tracking number has been added - fingers crossed for tomorrow then :D

Going to order the Spigen Cryo case - it's a bit more expensive but I really like the look and maybe it has something functional in the thermals as well :p Normally go for the Neo Hybrid but the S22 Version has had some poor reviews for quality.

EDIT: Hmmm not sure on the Cryo case now - seems to be complaints of dust getting in the holes of the case plus few reports of the mic having issues. Also not keen on so much of the camera space being open - plenty of risk of the phone getting scratched...Neo Hybrid of Parallax case?

Cases are false security, change my mind :p

There are way too many examples (even this week from a youtuber) who had their S22U in a case yet still smashed his screen because the angle and velocity it simply hit the desk with not even 1foot distance, was just primed perfectly.

Case of no case, you cannot outsmart gravity and physics coming together to ruin your day :D

So I opt not to have a case and enjoy my phone's slick feel instead. Screen protector on the other hand is pretty useful providing it's a decent one and you apply it with no bubbles.

Always a case for me, and I've used the Spigen brand for quite a few years with no complaints.
And proof is in the pudding, I have accidentally dropped phones before, and scuffed the case etc, but the phone survives without a single mark on it.

In other news.... DPD have delivered my Graphite S21 Ultra, happy days. Just got to wait till I get home from work to have a play :D

I agree on that front but I'm not the best when it comes to keys and phone in same pocket even if not intentional. I think I've dropped my S10+ about 3 times since ownership so chances of damage there are a lot less but the phone looking like a pig at the end of the 2 years - probability is quite high without a case :D

Going to give the Parallax a try - if I don't like it I'll go for the old faithful Neo Hybrid instead :D

I only use a case when I leave the house and even then its a very slim case. Having a curved screen, any drops and it most likely game over. With a case at least there is a chance the case could absorb some of the impact. Plus it reduces wear and tear on the frame and camera housing.

They normally quote 2 weeks from the date they advise of the delay, any previous dates don't seem to matter. Like mine was due on the 25th, and they advised of a delay on the same day which became the 11th March, exactly 14 days. Every single person that got delayed that day got the 11th of march. Roll on the 10th March. Another delay notification to... the 24th March. And again, every single person that had a 25th to the 11th delay that got delayed again on the 10th got told the 24th. These generic delays are always 14 days.

The most telling thing for me is when you contact the store. When you ask for a date, they don't tell you the 11th, or the 24th. They tell you they dont know. Every single time. I've heard them reading the customer screen under their breath when I've been on the phone before. The only date they see are the one you see in the order history. They read an arrival date in the past then give you the "high demand"/we'll escalted it standard message. It's all just a bit too transparent!

Seems I spoke too soon! A new update from Samsung.. a 15 day delay this time out. When 14 days just isn't quite good enough :p

Ordered 11th Feb for delivery 25th Feb... now 'estimated' for 31st March. I'm not convinced it will ever show up at this point.

Dust gets in every case, no matter what phone, stuff always gets inside. I've used clear cases for years now, and sometimes wonder how a long hair or something has managed to work its way into the back of the case in plain view!

It'll be almost impossible a phone will be immaculate come upgrade time due to the case and the dust getting in causing abrasion which usually looks like little blurry patches. Think my Nexus 4 was the worst back in the day, all the silvery bits had dull marks all over it!

At least it says 31st. Mine has been "heading to my country" for a week now, and initial delivery date was yesterday

Unless you living the beach life with constant exposure to sand, never had a problem with a quality case and any abrasive damage but certainly can happen with cheap ones.

I can get the s22 ultra for around £50 with Apple Music, unlimited data, calls and txts along with the earbuds. Is it worth paying a bit more to get extra ram and storage?
