Latest speech from Putin

He is NOT happy with Russians both overseas and domestic who condemn his war, calling them traitors and scum and filth that needs to be purged from society - he then calls on "true patriots Russians" to spit out these traitors on the pavement and purge them from society

"I am convinced that this self purification is necessary to strengthen our country"

This dude really read Mein Kampf and gave it a thumbs up, can see 10 copies sitting on his shelf

Is that a direct attack on the oligarchs then? (amongst others). It sounds that way, wonder if this is his reaction to them wanting him either to stop the war, or his power / position is under serious threat.

Certainly sounds like it. Perhaps the only Russian he wants to be rich is him, whilst everyone else lives like a soviet peasant in the glorious USSR.
I do hope someone offs him, and quickly.

Says the man with a huge yacht built by filthy western hands and likely to have been docked on a filthy western riviera instead of it's current bleak, frigid residence.

So much self-loathing is unhealthy.

The real traitors of Russia are it's current elite who have done everything they could to ensure the average Russian has no future beyond being chattel. Any notion of an advanced knowledge-based economy has been dead and buried for as long as Putin has been in power, the West needn't even move a muscle because all the work was already done.

They ran into two big problems, firstly the Russian plan of attack assumed they would practically annihilate the Ukrainian SAM defences and air force within 48hrs and achieve air supremacy, they still haven't done that and there was no plan B. Secondly the Kremlin put out the propaganda line that they had achieved air supremacy in Ukraine, and no one thought it might be a good idea to tell their units in the field it was propaganda thus resulting in a lot of them operating under the belief they were immune to attack from the air right up until their vehicle exploded.

Watched a previous video as come up recommended this is a good balanced video, interesting about them fuel pipelines that hasnt been documented much surely drones blowing up them is essential.

Its just another perspective - he is right about the blanket cheerleading for Ukraine, but they are also losing in some engagements (i knew about the Russian forces getting NLAW and Javelin a week ago). If Ukraine want to force good terms in this, they need to go on the attack
 
Could be a military coup. Sounded like the military refused orders to take part in the invasion of Ukraine so maybe elements are actually moving to get shot of Putin’s poodle.
 
A Belarusian coup will surely result in the same situation as Ukraine but without the Western arms and training, won't it?
 
I'd prefer not laying any hope out for that, I can easily believe that for a statist-above-all character like Putin that faking a coup to 'prove' there is a serious threat to Russia from 'dissidents' (people who actually want to see their country improve) would be a reasonable action.

The goal of course would be for Putin and his cronies to stop worrying every waking moment about their own skin by trying to get the average Russian (well more so the ultras who barely need an excuse, but still) to implement local pogroms for anyone who looks at them wrong.
