Excuse my ignorance...however, all the calls of Putin being a War Criminal and this would need to be judged by Criminal International Criminal Court.

Is this anything other then just words and condemnation, obviously with the nature of the invasion and civilian strikes there is little argument against it. What is the process if bringing him before the court? Presumably there would need to be some sort of defeat of Russia/capture of Putin to be able to go anywhere? Who is enacting the "arrest"?

The ICC doesn't have any real powers, and in any case Russia withdraw from it, so it's opinion - even if rendered - doesn't necessarily mean anything. When Biden describes Putin as a war criminal it is more rhetoric than statement of anything legal.

Yes, it does. Go and learn what free speech actually means.

This forum is a privately owned venue; free speech applies to restrictions imposed by Government's only, not to restrictions that private venues choose to apply in those venues.

No, it doesn't. Seeing as private individuals have been threatened with prosecution by the State for expressing their opinions, even when those opinions are not restricted by laws. This has been recognised in multiple instances by court judges who have ruled that the government and various police forces have acted outside of the law.
It also doesn't just apply to restrictions imposed by governments only but public authorities such as police forces and councils.

And yes, the forum is a privately owned venue but free speech also applies "without frontiers" so if, for example, the forum decided we all couldn't say we supported the Western version of events and the Russian trope was the only truth they'd probably find themselves in hot water.

That would be a consequence of effectively being at war which is one of the exceptional circumstances in which the right to free expression is curtailed.

It gives a clear "unlock" signal for funding and it also gives a clear signal to Putin that the US is looking at advanced options. Probably why Putin scurried away into a bunker.

The 'death to Putin' party is over: 'Meta says Ukrainians can't wish for Putin's death on Facebook anymore.'

An update from John Mearsheimer

Some old white guy living safely in a country far away from Russia, telling the Ukrainians they should break ties with the US, then roll over and play nice for Putin because he'll be sure to treat them right.

Unbelievable that anyone can be this disingenuous at this stage of the war. History has repeatedly shown that Russia cannot be trusted. She breaks promises, she breaks treaties, she breaks ceasefires, she breaks the rules of war.

Appeasement today means defeat tomorrow. Ukraine cannot afford to stop fighting, and she sure as hell cannot afford to give Russia what she wants.

I watched the first video posted from this guy and yes, some of it is quite true and we're all either more wiser or just had things pointed out that we already knew but didn't really pay much attention to it - geopolitics etc.

However, I agree, this particular vid feels more like an excuse to bash the US (the guy is fairly heavily left leaning so will be anti US, anti NATO so his stance has a bias which could arguably make him sound a Russian apologist) he blew it for me with this vid.

The David Starky video pages back was much better. Didn't really have a go at any one country, just the West in general for wasting too much time navel gazing and not really paying attention to the movement of power from West to East.

Ukraine wanted to look West. Ukraine was trying desperately to get out from underneath the boot of Russian control.

Police Forces are acting under the rules imposed by Governments; but feel free to substitute "state" for Government, it's probably more accurate anyway.

There would be precisely zero legal sanction against such action. It would inflict reputational damage on Overclockers UK, likely leading to economic damage, and could lead to attacks on their ability to host this forum. None of these things are infringements on free speech, because they are not state actions but the actions of private individuals.
