The EU now presents the US with a prime oil/gas/defence market. All shrink-wrapped with their governments bending over to approve funding. Putin's managed to make his border neighbours arm up - so he can sell that to validate his own funding requirements to the Russian populous.
The UK is more of a strategic partner - intelligence and defence production plus being an island makes a great B52 capable aircraft carrier.. There's certainly no commercial desire to bend to the UK-only ring-fenced market.
