If anything I would think it would start with US/NATO installations or assets in a non NATO country (Think Iranian attacks). That, at the moment would be a stretch, and a major escalation. However one I'm not sure would provoke response unless mass casualties are sustained, I mean has there even been any response to the Iranian attack?

We are banning protests, our leader openly lies, we allow bribes for government influence and we provide seats in the Lords for our billionaire friends. Plus turn a blind eye to corruption, cronyism and bribery. I don’t think we are as far away as you think!

Even when they say they'll sort something it just ends up reverting back to the status quo a few months later

nope, other than letting the local countries do whatever they feel.

the first thing putin/china would so is clobber the allied oil fields and cut undersea internet links.

I’ve got a Ukrainian grandfather, guess it’s time to apply for citizenship in a less horrible country! sigh.
