It's also a way in for them to proselytise young, impressionable audiences in the West and we already know there's a not insignificant portion of 'gamers' who will find purchase with both the far-right rhetoric and 'anti-imperialist' far-left schtick.

I don't know whether it's better to keep them connected or not, but it's unlikely to be a choice we have as the Kremlin will want to disconnect them at some point anyway.

It was a ******* stupid story, to be fair. Like, think about the mechanics of how these cosmonauts would have actually done that :D

I've all but given up trying to follow this now, I just dont have enough time to spend sifting through the sheer volume of crap coming out of both sides, and try to work out what is genuine and what is not. Its all just getting out of hand.
Congratulations to whoever is pulling the strings on both sides... They are doing an amazing job of destroying credibility of reporting on this conflict.:(

Putin doesn't have years, in fact I think his time is nearly up, maybe a couple of weeks.

I was watching some videos of Russians in supermarkets where the shelves were completly empty and the shopping malls had no shops left in them apart from one or two.

I didn't realise they were so dependent on the west for their shopping needs but the west infiltrated them on a huge scale commercial wise and now it all but gone.

They say putin doesn't tolerate failure, but what happens when he is that failure, I'm sure we will find out soon enough.

Credible reporting of a warzone is unfortunately rather difficult, but the fact that Russia is run by an autocrat and the notion of a free press is practically illegal makes it rather easy to place additional burden upon the information coming from their side even if our own is not immune from similar exploitation.

the issue was never tracking them but intercepting something going so fast.

Russias meant to have a missile that goes 2-3x faster than the one they used, unless that was pie in the sky claims.

Their main future weapon is supposed to be avangard which can carry nuclear warheads and supposedly goes all the way into space before coming back down

The first step to taking them down is to track them. If you can predict where they are going then you don’t need anything to be faster to shoot them down.

you do if they don't travel in a perfectly straight line though.
aren't most missiles these days meant to adjust their course on the fly

Cram probably works but I'm assuming it's range only covers small areas
seems something still got through though unless the second part of the video is fake

I would expect that is a downside to hypersonic missiles is they would have to reduce speed to manoeuvre effectively.

They apparently change their trajectory at 'random points' to avoid any prediction that you mention.

Seems a bit premature, part of the reason for the issues in the north now are some crafty Belarussian railway workers sabotaging the railway lines and halting Russia's resupply efforts by like a week or so!


On the plus side I think Russia had their highest ranking casualty to date reported today - a Lt General.

There is also a high-ranking naval officer (!!!) from the black sea fleet reportedly killed too, some twitter posts assert he was the deputy commander but he seems to have been a Captain and in some other senior post.

You do know an ICBM goes into space....and travels at a higher.speed than a hypersonic missile...

What next it can flip 360 and shoot lasers?
