Probably never bothered to verify it and just reposted a video, I mean lets face it not everyone is a computer nerd, for the untrained eye that could possibly fly as genuine... Still a little unprofessional and slightly embarrassing.

Night time footage from ARMA3 can look quite realistic if you record footage from it via phone or similar to degrade the quality, unless you notice how the distant trees change to low quality imposters with floating bits from the mipmapping and/or recognise the building models, etc. can pass as real footage. The way smoke is made up of blobs and high similarity between effects can also be a give away.

Nah it was Operation Flashpoint.

Bit off topic but I never really liked the shift with ARMA - at least the earlier ones went over the top milsim wise - everything was an unnecessary number of button actions to do, head bob, etc. simulation was just a pain - a lot of that stuff is actually seamless IRL as we do it by instinct and/or automatically cancel it out so it makes no sense to awkwardly simulate it.

I would think the Ukraine Ministry of Defence have a vested interest in seeming trustworthy and thus wouldn't put their name to something without verification.

I would even question that, just seems to be something on HullLive news website without a link to the source.

That's who MSN are attributing it to *shrug*.

Not so much the capture but putin will be livid it's getting flown to America to be disected. The treasures that will be in their databanks will be priceless.

Whilst the article mentions it a few times, there's no evidence to suggest that the Ukrainians will be giving it to the US, such as a quote from an official or similar etc. As it is now Ukrainian property I can't see them giving it (or any of the other bits they've captured) to the US without an agreement done before hand, either for cash or weapons etc.

I'd suggest that Ukraine would very much like to use these bits as a very nice bargaining tool to use against NATO/US with some form of payment being required before anything gets looked at!

? They're receiving billions in aid, why would you think no strings were already attached?

Another video, that's one ship gone and one of those leaving clearly on fire.

edit: Thats a lot of explosions on that ship, something else catches fire on the docks as well.
This is huge news.
Means there is no safe place for russians in Ukraine.
This is far beyond front lines and still a ship got destroyed and two other got hit aswell.

I wonder if UK will give Ukraine some naughty Brimstones?

I wondered about that - but their use is limited in this situation vs the complexities of arming them with them.

You'd be better off, at least as things stand, using the space and effort of logistics to get more NLAWs and so on to them.
