In fairness, the Russian's won that war, and that's probably the only lesson Putin took from it >.>

I've seen at least one video where they shot one at an abandoned tank though, I guess it's easy to waste things when you get them for free

Not every one will have made it to the front yet. I'd bet a lot of them are being stashed away in the likes of Kviv ready to make the lives of any russians hell if they try to get armour into the city.
Not every one will be used in "anger", as has been said some will be used for training.
Not every one will be used against armour, there are other tactical uses for them.
Not every one will get a hit, especially if used by inexperienced personal in actual combat conditions as opposed to training.
Not every hit will get a kill.

Also if you can't make use of the enemy weapons, or get them to where they can be used, the best option is to destroy them so the enemy doesn't get them back, this has been basic military 101 since the roman times, if you had to abandon any weapons you should try to destroy them on your way out the door.

Given the relative cost and complexity of the anti tank weapons vs the tanks, even is you use 10 per tank it's still a win for you, especially if the guys shooting the anti armour weapon survive, but the crew on the vehicles don't.

Seen it time and time again, 2 or 3 bits of Russian armour randomly driving around until they find trouble and get blown up.

Lack of communication i suppose, no wonder they needed to paint Z on everything, otherwise they'd be blowing themselves up.

Possibly you saw a death toll from communist regimes' policy. China and Russia combined could hit 60m, and possibly exceed that.

The Russian forces don't seem to be practicing any type of Combined Arms tactics at all.
 
Apparently NATO will be moving 5 carrier groups within range including north, med and to the east? not sure on the where of that last one.

Some of the so-called tanks were actually troop carriers (BTR IIRC). The vehicle behind the tank at 0:46 is one. The Russians appear to be trying blitzkrieg tactics - look at the speed of the vehicles at 0:46. That's faster than troops can go. But they should have deployed troops before entering the town and slowed down. I'm sure those forum members with actual military experience (I just used to work in the defence sector and - separately - was friends with a tank designer) will give you chapter and verse.

And did you note the carpets on top of the vehicles?
