I wonder if NATO countries could supply tanks/planes if there is a ceasefire agreement - no longer an active conflict with Russia so Putin doesn't have the same grounds for complaint and then Ukraine has an even better domestic deterrent against invasion.

Regarding tanks and jets, if NATO supplied some of this stuff - how would it be maintained and operated?

I mean things like tanks break down, need fixing and even moreso with jets - they have to be refueled, weapons supplied and reloaded, they require a lot of highly trained ground staff and crew to keep them going.. (that's not withstanding some of the specialist training and knowledge required to work this sort of stuff)

Would it be practical for NATO to provide these things to Ukraine, and it not be a massive disaster/waste?

Best thing to do is to make sure Russia gets its wings clipped so when the conflict is over we won't be back here again in a few years we have to crush Russian nationalism once and for all.

I bet the French can't wait for the conflict to be over so they can carry on doing business with Russia they won't even say what weapons they have sent to Ukraine in fear of upsetting the Russians they are absolutely bloody useless and have done nothing to help the Ukrainians.

I though that was obvious lol

Its only about 10% its more political statement than anything a gesture of support that sends a message to russia don't rely on guaranteed cash from the pipeline (its also cash that'll be ending up in america's pockets instead)

I suspect that Russia may have tried that but Ukraine want the option of being independent.. Russia hope that their balance of funds will be to the $68bn of damage rather than buying weapons.. that makes it's easier for Invasion 2.0.
