To those people spitting vitriol at the Russian soldiers let me ask you a question.

Would you ever shoot a civilian in cold blood?

Now imagine what you would have to go through before you would willingly carry out such an act.

THAT is what these soldiers must have been through.

War is abhorrent, it is ugly and it turns decent people into animals.

The blame needs to fall on the leaders that cause it. Leaders and commanders need to be prosecuted. Rank and file soldiers need help and therapy.

NB. I realise this is a simplistic view, but we need to focus on less hatred, not more.

Sometimes it is the other way around - a not small percentage of people are animals only somewhat controlled by society and this is what happens when they aren't constrained by the rules. And for the most part they are probably the ones carrying out these atrocities.

Not in the slightest, they murdered the civilians because they could, not because of anything they have been through, it's only been a month ffs, they murdered them because in their minds Ukrainians are Khokol's and are inferior to them and they thought they would win and so could get away with literal murder

Have to agree, they are at war, all the rules of civilised life have gone, they have been told these people are Nazis, they have seen friends die in battle however.

I mean they are also looting the heck out of Ukraine, if the Russians spent half as much time fighting as they do looting, raping and indiscriminately killing, then perhaps they might be winning this war.

I agree with your point but one correction, the Russian soilders committing these atrocities are not animals. Animals don't kidnap children and use them as shields to protect convoys from attack.

They have a foreign legion of overseas volunteers but military experience or you're simply a liability theres a story in one paper of an Irish guy who joined before even the legion was formed he's the only foreigner in his ukrainian unit and he gets a lot of thanks from locals but he has 5 years of experience in the Irish Defence Force or whatever its called

Im sorry but that dosnt fly with me, everybody has an inner morale compass. I dont care what these guys have been through... killing completely innocent civilians, innocent civilians that are trying to evacuate, innocent civilians trying to provide aid and care, press trying to document a conflict that is supposedly trying to eradicate "nazism"...

Yes there is a large element of blame on the commanders and the poor training (especially when it comes to geneva convention law of armed conflict). However, that dosnt absolve the grunt on the ground carrying out these actions. There is absolutely no excusing the lack of humanity, the lack of common decency, the lack of respect for fellow human beings, regardless of what they have been "told".
NOPE that dosnt wash with me at all. In this conflict the soldiers and units carrying out these war crimes deserve everything they have coming to them. I dont have any sympathy for them at all, absolute animals. The sad fact is that, for the most part, these animals wont pay for their actions.

I cannot imagine a scenario where I would behave this way, whatever I had been through. They did this because they know they can get away with it. Animals.
 
Never thought I'd see someone defending the execution of civilians.

And enough of this 'behaving like animals' ********. Animals don't do that, only humans are capable of behaving like that.

I agree with you kindai.

I saw a view from a drone where a family man stopped his car and called out 'children in car' with his hands up - and got killed right there in cold blood. There is no justification for that! And then they killed the mother too.We have a moral compass and that is monstrous.They also shot an old man with a shell from a tank. It's been what one month too?? NO justification whatsoever! Other things which i would rather not mention I've read.

What soldiers go through? Don't agree at all! yep agree with kindai.

Indeed, they did it because they enjoyed it, they see themselves as superior, they were nothing but parasites to be slaughtered and they enjoyed the power they had over them.

This is my point. With the exception if a *very* few psychos most rank and file soldiers are people that have to be TURNED INTO these monsters that are able to dehumanise others.

@Hades if you cannot imagine what would turn you into someone like that, you simply have to have sympathy for what they must have been through.

I am NOT excusing it, just trying to make sense of it in a way that allows me to have just a little faith in humanity.

no they were just pathetically wicked. i think you're over-thinking here. There are people out there who are sadists, rapists etc. They are just evil sods.

To have a little faith in humanity? That went with the holocaust you have to realise there is a lot of evil out there unfortunately. So you pick your friends and pick them carefully - there is a lot of good but there is also a lot of bad.

They believed that they weren't answerable to anyone - I'm sure there are the 'good' Russian soldiers but the bad ones are the ones that killed the civilians. To reiterate, I don't believe it was every Russian soldier that did this - there would be 'good' Russians and then the bad just like everywhere...and the bad ones believed they wouldn't be accountable for their actions so they murdered etc.

Hahaha

if you actually listen to intercepted phone calls you'll know that these murders happen because 1) they are ordered to (and if you disobey an order you are the enemy) and 2) they want to steal items from the dead Ukrainians to send home and 3) they have bought into propaganda that tells them Ukrainians are cockroaches that need to be swatted (Putins own words)

On top of this, there is Russian politicians in their parliament just last week who declared that Russians are the supreme race and the Ukrainians and Europeans should not have been born
