Neighbours want to close road for party - can I still drive on it?

Higher than average priced vehicle

This was my favourite part. :D

Surely if its only a couple of hours you can work round it? Speak to them?

If it's a whole day I'm sure they'd let you in and out?

People are usually reasonable.
I think just speaking to them could sort this?

Edit. I wouldn't start with.. "seeing as I have a higher than average priced vehicle..."

Can this now become a new forum meme to describe anything as favourable? For example: I met a more than averagely attractive girl on the checkout in Asda, should I ask her out?

Not sure why you you are even contemplating letting them close the road, assuming it's a public road that the council own etc. If they want a celebration, tell them to do it in their garden.

Because for these jubilee celebrations, councils have allowed people to request road closures to hold street parties. The OP doesn't get to "choose" whether the road is closed or not, the council do.

Can I still drive down the road?
Check the stipulations given by the council approving the closure.

My local council for example, say that access must be maintained, with stewards to facilitate people who want to get to and from their houses.

Thanks. I've had a look on council website but don't find anything related to road closure for jubilee

Nobody pays the average, that's how averages work
Of course they do, every one in in the middle of the higher price and the lower price pay the average price.

Problem is determining ithe higher and the lower price. The guy driving the Bugatti sets a far higher price than the guy driving a Kia picanto. That average price is still going to be huge considering you can pay 6 million for a Bugatti.

So OP in this context you could very well be driving a lower than average price car. Hmmm think about that, you are common after all.

What about people that have to work, how does that work, I presume they are forced to park there car in another street.

As with all road closures (for roadworks, groundworks etc), notices should have been posted to warn residents ahead of time to make appropriate plans to work around those planned closures in advanced.

You should have a look in your local news media (or contact the council, or ask a neighbour) to see how long your cul de sac will be locked down for.

Some places near me are only locked down for 3 hours, others are 8 hours.

It also only happens once. For example if a street has a party on Thursday they can't have another one on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, as far as I know.

Our road is only shut for one day from 8am until 10pm if i remember rightly. So I'm guessing no driving on it during those hours as the road will be full of tables, flags and drunk people..
