The literal point of green energy is to make this sustainable. Get the green stuff right and we have all the energy we need.
Which is the problem with Green Parties across the world: tiresome ignorance and the naturalist fallacy writ large. My wife is a member of the Grün party here, and I agree with her views, but I can't forgive politicians who advocated so hard against nuclear and GM while professing green values for their utter stupidity.
Yup, pretty much. Wind, solar, etc.. is rather variable, we need a good dependable green energy source that's perhaps supplemented by other alternatives such as wind, solar etc... and that's nuclear.
There is some bizarre hippie BS, especially in places like Germany, that results in opposition to nuclear even though it's a good dependable source of power.
Sadly a direct result of that has been Germany closing down its nuclear plants and becoming so reliant on Russian gas exports.
