Surely the attacker would be immediately ejected from Nato making them ‘fair game’ Unless it was ok’d by the rest of NATO in which case I imagine the country being attacked would have been expelled. Only guessing mind you.
I think that's article 8. Basically says don't attack another member or you're out. Also means the other member can call the assistance of the rest.
Of course real life has plenty shades of grey and any country thinking of doing something like that will no doubt pump out propaganda that they're being attacked by the other member/stage false flags etc. Just enough to muddy the waters so the other members can probably justify staying at arms length from what would be a costly conflict.
Kinda like what Russia has been up to for years. Only this time they pushed their luck too hard.
Russians on the street acting very patriotic saying they are happy to go fight and die in Ukraine, then pull out the sign up sheet and oh suddenly I misspoke I didn't say that no I don't want to fight

To be fair, you'd probably get the same reaction from most people in most countries. Its easy to say that you will fight for your country but few in the street would actually sign up for it and put their lives where their mouths are. Bravado in an interview quickly wanes if theres a chance of it becoming reality. Its a bit like interviewing a young person and them saying we shouldnt use plastics because of climate change etc and then saying ok, hand over your mobile phone then as a gesture toward not using plastics. They'd immediately refuse. Like most people who wave a flag or virtue signal, its usually only done and said on the grounds of "as long as it doesnt affect me directly"

Awesome... media announcing that Poland are delivery howitzers.. and the exact number of them. fantastic. Now the ruskies know where they are likely to be coming from, and how many to look for in a strike. This constant coverage is a blessing and a curse
Sat on Russia's border already pegged for denazification, sending whatever arms them can to Ukraine again. Unlike Germany, who hide behind them with their empty promises and phoney morality, 'repenting for their sins' whilst they continue to fund Putin's war machine. Been wondering actually, the Baltic States must feel so reassured to have such committed quarterbacks like France and Germany in the alliance. Unwilling to help Ukraine, happy to fund the aggressor, including military hardware during an embargo. Yeah, must inspire a lot of confidence. If it wasn't for the US and the UK (lol) I'd **** my pants if I was living in any of the old Soviet Bloc in this day and age.
And at this juncture, Germany needs a good ******* slap if they are not sending the arms they said they would. Just talk alone would also be a hindrance to the Ukrainian war effort, with time spent training and planning wasted for stuff they're never actually going to use. Those greedy hypocrites already have a lot to answer for, as I think they've done enough damage with emboldening Russia and weakening the Eastern Bloc over the years.
Germany and France have been sending arms, ammo and aid. They are not just sitting on there hands. They have to balance keeping their own economies from collapsing. The media keeps reporting things as fact before they happen, like arms being sent before agreement is made formal, making the situation worse.
Had the right wing nutter got in in France in the recent election, then it would have caused a big problem for UKR support.
Was a little foolish of Germany to get so far in bed with Russian gas for sure though.
Russia and China aren't really allies; it's more than they share enemies. But, even so, seen from that point of view wouldn't it make sense for India to try and build its own relations with Russia so they can neutralise that alliance?
yeah we promise not to target Russia with our new missles.
another week another escalation from who knows who is
controlling Biden.
what could possibly go wrong?
day before it's, no we are not sending, next day it's yes we are.
hmmm.
