Weapons and heavy weapons are not the same thing. I wish Germany would be more rapid and active in sending heavy weapons (and that the Swiss weren't blocking stuff, and that the French would step up more, etc.) but it's just not true that Germany haven't sent any weapons, millions of rounds of ammunition, rifles, anti-tank weapons, grenades, etc. have all been sent, along with ammunition for the howitzers sent by Holland. Germany did follow decades of established policy in rejecting initial transfer requests, but that was swiftly reversed within days of the war starting, as were rules preventing Germany sending direct military aid.

Like many of Western Europe's leaders, Scholz is clear that his top priority is preventing an escalation into a war between NATO and Russia, well ahead of ensuring that Ukraine wins. That doesn't mean that Germany is doing nothing.

This is the most up to date chart of military aid I can find:

A breakdown of some of the German deliveries is on Wikipedia

That's including pledges of deliveries etc.. they've been nearly useless so far and most of what they have done is the result of lots of pressure from other Western nations.

Apparently even the helmets they pledged still haven't arrived and at the start they were blocking deliveries from Estonia of artillery:

I takes a long time to negotiate these things and it is never simply black and white. Germany wanted to send the Gepard but could not because the Oerlikon cannons it uses are a Swiss design, that use Swiss supplied ammunition. So they had to seek an alternative source for the ammunition.

It's much easier for many (not you) to post memes about Germany = bad and UK = good. Yet we can all see the bulk of the weapon and financial support comes from the USA. As usual the EU/UK are slow to act with mostly rhetoric. "We will fight them on the beaches... with American weapons".

The US has a far bigger military, that's not an excuse for Germany, their efforts have been laughable with regular stalling/delays.

The memes are largely accurate in this case tbh...

It really is a great channel that puts high production value into their videos and research/narration.

They do have one from recent days about a post-nuclear humanity though which involves Russia and the USA. Spoiler alert, humanity as we know it is as good as gone within a couple of generations following such an event, and as Destiny says, many high up politicians simply do not understand the consequences. Their underground bunkers are useless for the long term anyway. Will provide months of support for those inside, but once supplies run dry, the surface will be too hostile for human life so everyone is as good as dead anyway.

Interesting statistic

The US spends $60 billion per year on maintenance for its nuclear stockpile.

$60 billion is the entire annual budget for Russian military, it's no surprise that they don't have enough to go around for maintenance as we've already seen.

In the event of Russia attempting to launch, there is a high probability of bombs exploding in the launch silo or over Russian cities causing more damage to itself than the enemy

Speaking of, rocket man's nuclear capable missle test ended up bombing his own city. This is what awaits Russia

Obviously I can't verify the information but apparently only the submarine launched and mobile Topol based units have [significant] money spent on maintenance and the rest is basically rotting away.

It is difficult to compare the US and Russian military budgets though as they get spent quite differently and some things which might cost the US army an arm and a leg due to the use of private industry, etc. might be dirt cheap for Russia and vice versa.

3,628,012,500,000 rubles they spend per year. Most likely it goes futher than 60 billion dollars in the us. I estimate they get over a quarter of what the us gets for it $800 billion.
what I find insulting , India spend more on weapons than the UK, and we give them aid.

The US ARE doing a lot to help the Ukraine but relatively speaking we (the UK) are tiny in comparison so I would expect our contribution to be less. It isn't a competition and (and this is rare for me to say anything positive about the UK government at the moment) but I think the UK is pulling its weight and then some when it comes to military support for Ukraine.

as for the US supplying the allies in WWII.... yes they did.... but lets not forget they really did not want any part of WWII and kept out of it until Pearl Harbour. (I can totally understand why they would have wanted to keep out of it if possible).. And yes without their military aid the war may have gone in a very different direction..... but dont forget that wasnt an act of pure kindness.... We only finished paying them off a few years ago.

their military aid was bought and paid for.

in any conventional war Russia will be stuffed. their inability to beat the Ukraine confirms this. The only reason they have not been convincingly beaten already is the rest of the worlds (legitimate) fear of Russia escalating to biological or nuclear. Putin and his cronies just *may* be insane/evil enough to decide if we cant win then everyone can lose..

Yep I can't fault our activity with Ukraine, one thing I can give our gov props for.

A small, but important point to make would be including all the assistance since 2014 to make a genuine comparison, though the US would still win that.

Maybe Scholz is trying to imply promised material to replace what other countries have given was effectively only possible because of them or I probably just lying since nobody seems to care about that useless things like honesty anymore.

Medvedev is going nuts,

Dmitry Medvedev: "People often ask me why my Telegram posts are so harsh. The answer is that I hate them. They are ******** and scum. They want death for us, for Russia. And as long as I'm alive, I'll do anything to make them disappear."

Germany is at it again... turns out it isn't necessarily quicker/more efficient for them to supply Greece with IFVs in return for them supplying Ukraine with old BMP-1s as Greece wants to take delivery first:
Yes , because we are preparing for a quick war with our allies in the east, we dont have the luxury to hand out arms now. And we dont trust ze germans for starter.
