Medvedev is going nuts,

Dmitry Medvedev: "People often ask me why my Telegram posts are so harsh. The answer is that I hate them. They are ******** and scum. They want death for us, for Russia. And as long as I'm alive, I'll do anything to make them disappear."
I think we always have to be careful to only target Putin and his crony's and not the ordinary Russian people.

Otherwise we see this bunker mentality. Though in Medvedev's case he probably has some responsibility for this war.

Yes , because we are preparing for a quick war with our allies in the east, we dont have the luxury to hand out arms now. And we dont trust ze germans for starter.

Is conflict between Greece and Turkey really likely? I've seen nothing on that in the UK press.

What would be the trigger for that, aside from history?

If putin's gets what he wants in ukraine, next battlefield is the Aegean. In a nutshell, Turkey demands us to demilitirize, Lesbos, Lemnos, Samothrace, Samos, Chios, Rhodes and all of Dodecanese, while they keep a huge army on their shores with hundreds of landing crafts.... They also claim they arent Greek and should be taken back by force, anyway the relations are very bad. Also, Erdogan's lunacy fuels the fire. He even went to say there isnt such a thing as a Greek nationality, just a bunch of slavs and albanians who revolted back at 1821. Can you see the parallels with Ukraine?

I do feel like this conflict will have wider implications in that respect - if Russia does ultimately win it will potentially embolden those in other parts of the world with similar designs, who sadly do exist. Though the way things have been going likely was disincentivizing them.

"They want death for us..." Is he talking about Ukrainians? Confusion if so... Ukraine never attacked Russia lol. What a special character this person is.

Thanks. I have seen there are issues with kos, lesbos etc with the Greeks and Turks talking angrily about control of the sea there.

Erdoğan has been a bit of a character for years, and got an easy ride for a long time.

If I was a tinpot dictator, I'd say this is an absolutely ideal time for a landgrab.

I'm fully expecting huge issues in the sahel, and Africa generally, in the near future.

It really is a great channel that puts high production value into their videos and research/narration.

They do have one from recent days about a post-nuclear humanity though which involves Russia and the USA. Spoiler alert, humanity as we know it is as good as gone within a couple of generations following such an event, and as Destiny says, many high up politicians simply do not understand the consequences. Their underground bunkers are useless for the long term anyway. Will provide months of support for those inside, but once supplies run dry, the surface will be too hostile for human life so everyone is as good as dead anyway.

A lot of that video is based on the unrealistic scenarios of older style big dirty bombs hitting almost exclusively high density metropolitan areas. Though I can kind of see why people focus on them as a kind of deterrent.

The situation with nuclear power plants for instance would not be 100s of Chernobyl like situations - maybe a small number might maybe - the vast majority would only result in localised contamination whether that is eventual failure of containment in the longer run or varying degrees of damage from the nuclear attacks.

Stratospheric injection would be much more limited with modern nuclear weapons same with background radiation levels - while they might be relatively high immediately the longer lived isotopes would be spread out over such a large area eventually it would be much reduced in impact in any one area - over 500 atmospheric nuclear tests have already been conducted although the implications of fallout and spread of radiation is a little different if you detonate at a city location*. Likewise they rarely take into account that most nuclear weapons used in a war scenario will be airburst rather than groundburst especially against cities rather than military infrastructure.

Not to say the outcome would be good - at best you are talking extreme volcanic winter - but the scenarios with like 50+C temperature drop and long term severe radiation levels are exceedingly unlikely.

So if they are admitting to 600... (bare in mind that is only the Western Military District - a lot of the new draft came from the east)... additionally from the reports from Russian social media many were pushed into signing contracts and not technically conscripts.

EDIT: Someone's light hearted comment on that: "Authorities also report that 15,000 dead ones failed to respond to their enquiries.".
