LMAO, someone actually takes Russia at their word. Remember when they said they would never invade Ukraine if they gave up their nukes....

I was at a talk about Prince Phillip last night by the former Lord Provost of Aberdeen Barney Crockett and he made two points in reference to Ukraine: first that Scotland and Ukraine share a patron Saint - St Andrew - and second that we in the UK have not known such turmoil for hundreds of years so it is much more difficult for us to truly understand what is going on. You have to go back to 1745 at the very least, and even then that didn't touch much of the country. That's 10+ generations. And for much of England you have to go back to the Civil War.

Absolute nonsense. The plan to invade Ukraine started a long time ago (2014, probably earlier than that) and has been on going ever since. You are aware of the illegal annexation of the Crimea right?

No amount of pandering was ever going to change the current situation we're in. To believe otherwise is at best just plain ignorant or at worst wilful condoning of what's happening right now.
You say nothing would have changed it, in that case Putins word means nothing.

Zelensky admits the only way this will end is with negotiation talks with Putin/Russia.
Zelensky has been requesting negotiation talks with Putin directly.

Best someone call Zelensky and tell him not to attempt any peace talks with Russia as Peter75 does not trust Putin, I guess it's a fight to the bitter end now as some of the guys at overclockers forums don't believe in peace talks(with Russia).

I am tending to agree with Amnesia, all this talk of no surrender, Putin's a madman, if he goes the next President will be even madder... The only eggs most forum commentators have in this basket is a well tapped keyboard.

And frankly I am getting sick of the Ukrainian leader's lack of negotiting skills as he "demands" this and "demands" that. I'd like to see how much help Ukraine would offer other countries if the situation was reversed..., is "disappointed" with the other.

Complete speculation and highly doubtful.

What is Zelensky demanding that is unreasonable? Weapons to defend themselves? The non-negotiation of giving up their own lands?

And what exactly would you do in this situation is you were in charge of Ukraine?

Given that Russia multiple times lied through their teeth to the UN and other official entities leading up to this and since and multiple times tried to use negotiations to game the situation on the battlefield there is absolutely no way to trust Russia in negotiations. Putin burnt any trust in the last few months and his rhetoric of the last few weeks and comparisons to historic figures and events etc. leaves little doubt as to his real intentions.

Why should he negotiate the surrender of his country?
But you go ahead and stick up for a mass deportation ,raping and killing regime, after all, any sane leader would negotiate with a regime that commits those acts wouldn't they....

Said no one ever, well maybe Chamberlain....that worked out well.
