Damn I knew I couldn't trust Google.

Was crimea not part of Ukraine in your warped mind?

So another insincere rubbish reply to a serious point because you can't accept the implications. Clearly I'm referring to Ukraine here.
Ok my apologies I thought you were refering to yourself.

Ok so can we get back on topic, what is your alternative if not peace talks ?

Was crimea not part of Ukraine in your warped mind?
Yes it was and then it got annexed by Russia and now on February 24th 2022 Russia invaded other parts of Ukraine.

Also why are you angry at me, I clearly showed you I got that date from Google, why don't you go have a fight to the death with Google, it seems a common theme in this thread.

Nope you're not a rape victim as far as I know, I'm just asking you what your alternative idea is.
You’re not ‘negotiating’ with someone who has a gun to your head while doing it.
What anybody here says has no sway, it’s all down to Ukraine and they seem to want to fight. Disagree with that? Take it up with a Ukrainian. They have every reason to want to fight and beyond the initial surge in the south have stalled and beaten back the Russians in pretty much every front. If they hadn’t fought they’d have no country right now, they’d be a vassal.

So...how exactly did Russia annex the sovereign territory of another country?

First you demanded my house and old socks and now you want history lessons.
Where is the appreciation for all you have recieved so far ?

Sorry I shouldn't mock Zelensky, I do like him.

Damn I knew I couldn't trust Google.

You can't be that clueless? Surely you must have watched some news programs and read some newspapers in 2014?

Just in case you are oblivious to the fact this has been going on for some years now maybe start here:

Yes, there was an additional invasion in February this year into other parts of Ukraine which is what you're getting confused by but the conflict between Ukraine and Russia has been ongoing since their initial invasions in 2014.

Yes it was and then it got annexed by Russia and now on February 24th 2022 Russia invaded other parts of Ukraine.

And nothing happened in the meantime??? This is why you need the link above. It wasn't just Crimea being annexed and everything becoming peaceful but also a chunk of Eastern Ukraine was seized after some fighting in that region and a low-level conflict has been going on there for several years until Russia further escalated the situation with the latest invasion.

France as always shown there true colours to UK, I would give up Ireland in negotiations and end the war.:p

America can't be trusted too!, the U.S. provided Ukraine with $1.5 billion in military aid from 2014 to 2019 you talk about peace & democracy agreement but where was that agreement when USA invaded Iraq War 2003 where was the sanctions placed on America for lying to the world just for oil? And it seems that NATO, USA UK didn't respect international law and UN charter agreement then. Was it not days before the fighting started, the US was the “culprit” in the Ukraine crisis, heightening tensions, creating panic on social media and even hyping up the possibility of warfare. your opinion of peace don't work in the real world. I know that there are a lot of people who just can’t change their respective views for the United States, but their political position in the world just can’t be ignored anymore.
Giving up Ireland made me laugh

You can say what you want, the US was 100% correct on invasion, and they had been planning it all along. This showed in their thoroughly prepared statements that were leaked ahead of time.

Russia would have invaded anyway no matter what, simply because they no longer had a puppet government in place in Ukraine.

To avoid this silly thing called a war maybe.

So you think it's ok for Russia to tell Ukraine not to do something and threaten war if it does?
Ukraine being a sovereign nation has the right to do as it pleases and not be threatened with war.

If Ukraine said "ok, we won't do that because we're scared you'll invade us" where does it end? What does Russia demand next which Ukraine has to do under the threat of invasion?
Basically if Ukraine were to pander to everything Russia wanted it would be a puppet state. Ukraine doesn't want to be a puppet state.

We just let a Russia do its own thing with trying to have an economy solely based on oil and gas. Keep sanctions tight for a few years and toys will be thrown from the pram inside Russia. People will not be able to travel, planes are grounded through lack of spares, vlad burgers are the only ones in town with additional ketchup free. The Internet is dead and all the brands are gone. International sports are not coming home. What Olympics?
Meanwhile the rouble in your pocket is the same as it was last year. Unless you want to spend it anywhere but in the motherland.

So you think it's ok for Russia to tell Ukraine not to do something and threaten war if it does?

I didn't say it was ok but these are the consequences for refusal, some will say it's worth it but those people generally are sat in the comfort of their own homes with the heating on....not walking for hundreds and hundreds of miles with their kids and 1 bag of belongings hoping some stranger in a foreign country will take them in and feed them.

You are so full of rubbish it's unreal.

Tell me, when were Ukraine promised NATO membership?
You must be mistaken I never said Ukraine were promised NATO membership.
Russia wanted Ukraine to stop it's ambition of joining NATO, Ukraine knew if they didn't agree then it would probably lead to war.

Ukraine has quashed suggestions by the country’s ambassador to Britain that it could drop its bid to join Nato to avoid war with Russia

Ambassador Vadym Prystaiko told BBC Ukraine that the country was willing to be “flexible” over its goal to join the Atlantic military alliance, a move the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, has warned would be a trigger for war.
