Striking kyiv , think Russia will go for scorched earth?
We can't have it so might as well bomb them and make them pay a price
Probably in retaliation for sending those new rocket systems, Russia is try flexing it's power projection by showing it can strike anywhere at any time and sow fear in civilians. If it is the case these are retaliatory strikes then in some ways it's good news as it shows Russia is scared of what's coming thier way.

A warning that our missiles can't hit anything of military value.

Or that they will just target civilians, however all the west knows this so it must be rubbish weapon systems
I wonder if these were proper guided cruise missiles or just long range ballistic types?
Given the hits on residential areas the US should just announce that since these attacks could land literally anywhere due to the ineptitude of the Russian guidance systems they’ve no option but to install patriot/iron dome systems around their embassies and those of their allies to protect their consulate staff.

Iron Dome will almost certainly never be installed in Ukraine neither as an asset partially or fully under Ukrainian control or another nation. Aside from the scale and costs of implementing and supporting it Israel are worried information about it would get into the wrong hands.

Though slightly weird - Israel would be willing to work with UAE and SA to implement a similar system but refuses to do so in relation to Ukraine.

Now that russia has confirmed Belarus is getting nukes on their soil it's time we sent nukes to other Nato countries.

The will go apeshit if we put nukes in Poland or even Ukrain but they are the ones starting it so really can't complain.

As for striking Kyiv again the longe range missile systems should be fair game to reach Russian cities.

As for belarus I know it's best if they stay out of this war but if they resume missile strikes from their borders again they should be repaid in kind.

Ukrain should get iron dome, despite the Israelies concerns, they are no better than Russia anyway, unfortunately their sins go unpunished because they happen to have western support.

When you look at it that way it's easy to see the hypocracy of war.

No. Russia has promised

Russia promises Belarus Iskander-M nuclear-capable missiles

Russia will send nuclear capable short-range missile systems to its ally Belarus in the coming months, President Vladimir Putin has said.
He said Iskander-M systems "can fire ballistic and cruise missiles, both conventional and nuclear types".
The systems have a range of up to 500km (310 miles).

It is just a missle system not nukes.

Ukraine has received another batch of 2900 Matador RGW90 portable anti-tank grenade launchers directly from the German arms industry.

According to the German newspaper, Kyiv paid for the weapons with its own money and the delivery of the weapons which required the green light from the federal government has already been delivered.

Fantastic.

Looks like Russia is going through a fairly big shuffle behind the scenes and trying to pull some older guys back out of retirement into leadership roles - not sure if in an attempt to reshape or desperation due to losses (as well as replacing some for failures).

I think it is a fairly good sign this isn't ending any time soon, likely they won't settle just for solidifying their position in the Donbas, etc. and likely have their sights on another crack at Kyiv - they've been pulling quite a lot of T-72s and 80s out of storage in the east and moving them towards Nizhny Novgorod so wonder if they are going to build up forces to have another crack from Belarus or the north east with heavier elements this time if/when the ground freezes or push earlier.

My understanding is that Ukraine can't use the fancy new long range weapons that have been donated for attacks on Russian soil. Don't see why Belarus isn't fair game though if it keeps playing silly buggers.

No official declaration of war despite the circumstances. I almost feel like Ukraine should declare war on Belarus though as the fall out would be dynamite, but it would also put those who support Ukraine in a sticky position.

I mean if you're a Russian general you may as well live it up before Putin gets bored and offs you.
