I know it's pointless trying to decipher messages like that (as it could mean several things), but i'm wondering if those ghost drones are actually like mines that they can leave behind and then control as the enemy force is confidently moving into an area?

I can't link to it directly here (as it contains footage of an attack) but there is a video from the Ukrainians on twitter, they were using some of their home grown self-propelled 155mm artillery, with fire control from a Bayraktar drone to strike the island.
I hadn't realized they'd got to the point where they were shelling it, I previously assumed it was just drone strikes by Bayraktar (relatively small, targeted munitions) and then recently HIMARS.

Then you went onto tell me about some victories Ukraine had in the North & East.
But that does not change that overall Russia have gained ground since the war started.
Correct, it isn't, it's losing ground, just look at the maps and read what I was referring to instead of pretending to ignore all context.
I wasn't referring to: "since the war started" though, you keep on pretending to ignore that.
Overall they've been losing ground over the past couple of months, they've made some gains in the East but losses in the South and the North have eclipsed those ergo... "overall", they've had a net loss of ground.
But are struggling to hold it and the current action is very much a large ebb and flow, so it isn't some kind of big gotcha like you are trying to portray.

A couple of months ago was my reference point, that's the post you replied to. If he instead meant to say February then that's a different matter but my posts have continually referred to a couple of months ago, Ukraine was indeed doing rather well and near the start of a push back against Russia.
The context of what I'm referring to is readily apparent, relative to when they were holding more ground in the North etc.. they've been pushed back and are now losing ground overall. You can again pretend that some other claims have been made but that would be silly.
I think you don't understand Russian Tactical Aircraft Doctrine myself. I mean I absolutely agree with you that they tried and failed in the first few days, yeap 100% agreement there, but for the RuAF their doctrine for gaining air superiority is that it is a "would be nice if we can but not essential if we don't" vs the NATO "it is essential 100% of the time" doctrine.
I also love that any single tiny thing which challenges your opinion is instantly dismissed as "Pro-Russian Cope" rather than the far more common "Dowie's talking crap again isn't he", but the world would be boring if everyone thought the same so, like a scientist listening to a flat-earther, I can't wait to hear what gems you've got next
