You know that you don't need to leave the label on for that long, right? You're safe enough to remove it when you get home from hospital!read above dude, our babies for many decades have two labels put on them.
That's the best idea. Imagine if they grew up to a criminal. They would already be n the database easier to conviction
And simultaneously your sister. Are you guys saying dowie could be my mum?
This. Our kids all had arm and leg tags with 'FIG (surname)' on them, as well as an alarm around the ankle that locks down the hospital and sets off an alarm if the baby leaves the ward, before they'd even cut the cord - literally.
Edit: Now read theTweetReddit (derp) thread in the OP, and I feel sick. I can't even imagine!... Jeez.

If you live in Norfolk, this is perfectly normal.

As SGF says probably not in this country for a very long time, they've been paranoid about the theft of babies, and even before that (the 90's IIRC*) they did the tagging very soon after birth specifically to prevent issues.I’ve often wondered about this. People who make all kinds of mistakes in jobs so it can certainly happen!

*I seem to remember a few cases (one or two) of someone walking into an old style maternity ward and walking out with someone's baby, and the rush to very rapidly make all maternity wards very secure and up the security on normal kids wards as well. Mainly as my sister was pregnant with my oldest nephew at the time, and she was utterly paranoid about him being stolen, and because she gave birth in the brand new maternity ward at the local hospital which was like gaining access to a prison for visitors![]()
Yeah I would have thought as much thanks.read above dude, our babies for many decades have two labels put on them.

All good. Keep it in the family.

I often have to go and see the Matron in Maternity and it's like Fort Knox.
Even though they know me I still have to be passed off.
