Show me where I said that.
really, you need to be shown it?? it's the bit i quoted.
I'm sure there are some things that happen in war but also...

Who Invaded who again?
see here, the whole quote. whether intentional or not the implication from that post is it's ok to commit war crimes against the invaders soldiers. i don't really give a **** about the rest of your post as i'm not trying to claim anyone's committing war crimes. i simply saw your post suggesting the invaders soldiers are fair game for war crimes and replied solely and specifically to that. now if that's not what you meant to imply then fair enough but don't come the 'that's not what i said' BS.

People keep mentioning Ukrainian war crimes without providing any actual examples. Do you have any? Maybe if people posted about them we would discuss them.

Also did anyone else in this thread say they were okay with committing war crimes? It seems a few posters in here like to insinuate that we are but I don't think I have seen anyone state this.

Every few posts some contrarian will pop into the thread and say "oh but what about the Ukrainian war crimes" without any context or examples. No one here thinks its okay to commit war crimes no matter the side.
Speaking for myself, rather than all the contrarians that keep popping in to the thread (umm, ok...), I just find the thread a bit of an echo chamber.

Yes, we all know who invaded whom, that's not in question.

That was not what I was implying, just to make that clear to you.

Okay so no examples of war crimes? So you pop to imply we all gloss over war crimes while giving no examples?
Like I said in my previous post no one in here afaik is okay with war crimes ( I can't speak for everyone of course) .

Why don't you provide some examples for us to discuss? You will pretty quickly see people will agree that they are not okay what ever they may be.

It is a pro-Ukrainian conflict, what do you expect? We could argue the benefits of Hitler's Nazi party if you like?

So I was just reading that apparently Poland is buying a whole host of equipment. One of those is 672 self propelled howitzers. Sounds like they are expecting to have to defend themselves.

Casually buying a few thousand mobile artillery, tanks and IFVs. And 48 planes. Possibly they're not seeing the value in planes these days. If Russia can't make planes work against a bunch of manpads then probably Poland can't either.

Given the events at the start of WW2 and since and probably as good as understanding of Russia as anyone Poland probably understand the value in being prepared and that this doesn't necessarily end at Ukraine.

They've also been investing in high mobility armoured vehicles capable of mounting multiple air and ground missile launcher systems such as Brimstone.

Makes sense for Poland to opt more for mid-range fires rather than focusing on air superiority which is already mostly covered by allies anyway. Also in the event that allies ditch Poland (necessities of state require a level of suspicion baked into defence policy even disregarding historical scars of which Poland has many) they can pivot away from NATO doctrine if they need to.

I hope i am not about to put my foot in it, and there are probably good reasons why am wrong and i am happy to be corrected. I hate what Russia is doing to the Ukraine and i would love nothing better to read that Putins cronies had turned on each other and taken themselves out and were pulling out of Ukraine.
All that being said, and again no offence meant............... (hopefully the small print out of the way ;) )
I am reading at the moment about how outrageous it is that Russia may be limiting their gas supply to the likes of Germany and other EU countries.

I get the reasons why this is really bad for Europe but, given all the other atrocities Russia are carrying out..... This is the one I think i sort of understand. Shoe on the other foot if we (by we i mean Great Britain as i am British) were invading say France, and lets say Noth sea oil was in desperate demand for the EU.............. would we not feel justified in cutting off our supply to them given the EU would be directly supporting France?.

I am not saying Russia are right in any way, but it seems strange to me that anyone would expect a country that we are an enemy of to supply us with anything, unless it benefited them to do so......... (I imagine they will sell what ever they need to over and above what they can sell elsewhere as anyone buying their oil or gas are funding their war chest).

Or am i wrong?........ of all the war crimes Russia are committing, cutting their fossil fuel sales, when everyone around them are equally cutting sales of stuff to Russia seems a pretty obvious thing to do.
