Yet you represented it very much from one side omitting the gravitas of the article.

That's the post, the article link is right in there and I assumed most here would know how these things work, you click the link and read the article.
Now you know.

I think everyone needs to chill and just enjoy summer.

This is ultimately self defesting.

One of the practical reasons you should treat POWs well is to make it easier for your enemy to mentally come to the decision to surrender, rather that fight on.

I suspect there isn't a Ukrainian solder out there who hasn't seen or heard of the video, many of whom will now have come to the decision to fight to the death (if they havn't already) rather than risk such a fate.

More Russian soldiers will die, the Ukrainians will fight harder.

The brutal stupidity of this is breathtaking.

(Sadly, I suspect once this is over and the things that went on in the Russian POW camps/prisons comes to light, we're going find out the things that happened there will rank with some of the worst depravities in our history)

It is what happens when you have a regime which operates more like a cartel or mafia - intimidation is their default tool, in some cases the only way they know.

Yet you choose to represent the article like you did.

Those trains and convoys heading towards Kherson seemed like an obvious target for HIMARS. One of the big take aways from this 21st century conventional war is unlike WW2 trying to take the enemy by surprise on a large scale is all but impossible these days with the kind of surveillance technologies that's available. It seems like the days of when we could pull off a scheme like Operation Mincemeat are long gone.

Not sure what Serbia hopes to gain from this?

They will get curbstomped pretty quickly if they go for Kosovo.

Bribes from Russia perhaps? Try and distract the west?

Seems like an attempt to distract, raise the stakes further, scare countries off intervening with Russia, while giving the Russians another interesting event to try and spin in their favour both domestically and abroad.

Feel like it's a fairly safe assumption that Russia will have been involved in the planning of whatever Serbia is up to right now.

I guess the Serbians must see some kind of benefit domestically?
