Last month, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, now Deputy Chairman of the powerful Security Council, said that if Crimea were attacked, then "Judgement Day will instantly await all those [involved]. It will be very fast and very hard."

No doubt it's just another in the long line of empty threats from Russia.

As I thought, US are happy for Crimean targets to be used apparently.

Beautiful. I don’t know which is better, Ukraine finally hitting Russia with long range missiles or Russia crying about being hit.

What are they going to do, target more civilians or attempt to capture Kyiv again.

Russian press seems to be making it look like some kind of accident. They make themselves look stupid.

So was it Ukrainians or are they just incompetent enough to accidently blow up half of their own airfield?

There are videos on youtube of what look like tourists legging it after seeing 3 huge explosions a few miles away. It's getting harder for them to cover things up.

Remember the IRA didn't just appear from under a fairy tree in 1969 they have been regularly carrying out attack around the border since its creation.
Yes, a few nutters attached some RUC targets in the 50s, etc. But they had almost no numbers and almost no support whatsoever.
No, what made the Troubles last 30 years was mostly what the British army did after they were sent over as "peacekeepers".
Between them BallyMurphy, Bloody Sunday, and internment were the biggest requirement tool the Provos every had. Exactly how much is hard to be sure of, but a conflict which might have ended in the mid 70s was prolonged by the idiotic behaviour of the state.
Never heard of the War of Independence being called the Troubles, guess that makes the Republic an illegal country?

It’s a funny line to take. You’d think they’d drum up more support blaming Ukraine for an attack vs making themselves look like a bunch of clowns.

I'm glad the troubles are over but this is the Ukraine thread! :)
Apologies.
But the point Mr Jack made about Amnesty does stand: us their report seemed very one-sided and strange but their actual remit to look after prisoners of consciences is very important.
And this war should remind everyone how important the established international order is, and while Amnesty aren't anything official their work did tie into some of that. And Putin is very much into destroying the international order, human rights, and so on.

More's the pity that not only did they publish the report , but that person from Amnesty retweeted those Russian imperial tweets is even worse.

Yet, they did the same when they lost that warship.
When lying becomes instinctive, some very strange things can happen.
As the war has demonstrated, the believing your own lies - like we'll walk in Ukraine and be welcomed as saviours - is very very dangerous.

Christ. The Ghost of Kiev salutes you.

The Amnesty report … reported one side yep. Was it true?
The content…. the actual important bit. The truth or not.

Armies take the best tactical positions they can. Winning the battles us most important. This at time put people in jeopardy. Has always been that way. Will always be that way.
Apart from idiot propaganda toss pots.

I think this in general is something people vastly underestimate who want to see the UK broken up and/or take a smaller presence on the world stage - the vacuum will likely only be filled by those with a less civilised outlook and that will have a knock on effect on us all including potentially our national security.

Same for people who want us to get rid of our nukes - not in a wouldn't it be nice if we could kind of way but in a if they had it their way would instantly be decommissioned.

None of the videos I've seen so far show evidence of artillery/cruise missiles involved in the attack at Novofedorivka, the way it unfolded seems odd for an accident - I'd say either drones or sabotage more likely.
