Man tries to stop combine because it ruins his meal

Lemme guess, that field has been farmed for hundreds of years and this blokes bought a newbuild next door and not done his research.
I love watching my mate playing out with his forager, i'd be stoked to live that close to the action again like I did growing up. As would my son who lives in a fantasy land with police tractors :D
 
Good job they even saw him; aren't modern combines /tractors basically driven on autopilot now? If the tractor wasn't there and the combine driver on his phone he could have been minced
 
damn comments have been disabled... there would likely have been gold in those if they had been open.

what a plonker... dont get me wrong, my family home growing up backed onto a field and it was horrible at harvest time - esp as i have athsma and hayfever. Also they did some crop sprayng with an aeorplane one year which imo quite rightly got complaints...... but this is harvest time. you own a house close to a farmers field and that is what you are gonna get. the bloke is a moron.

I grew up on a farm in Norfolk. And even we didn't go this far! :o
 
Presumably, it was more than a sandwich! :D

I guess the (presumably a homeowner?) has a choice here, build a solid fence, or plant a big hedge etc.. and don't get the views over fields etc.. or stick with the open farm style fence on your garden and accept that if you're next to a farm with those views over open filed etc.. some farming might take place and crop dust will be kicked up all over the place.
 
Townies that move next to farmland and expect the farmers to change their methods to suit them are comedy gold.

The “My neighbour has done X on his land (X being a common and totally legal farming practice) and my ruined my view” ones on FB living in France forums are my favourites.
 
A small development was built next to fields and the proverbial townies "escaping to the country" flocked.

The residents took it upon themselves to install a gate from their development into the field so they could take their dogs a walk without asking permission of farmer

All ok for a while until the farmer does some muck spreading in the field and goes home. Cue angry complaints of dogs covered in manure (they like to roll in it) and residents with boots caked in it saying it's unacceptable the farmer did this and how disrespectful of him for not consulting on it...

It was a farming community so they got ripped to shreds.

We do a bit of pigeon shooting for some local farmers when needed and there's been a few posts complaining about the noise on local Facebook groups, it's understanably annoying at times but in the end it's only on odd days and it isn't exactly persistent or at unsociable hours. These people would be the first to complain if the farmers sold the land and a developer decided to turn it into a massive housing estate instead.
 
the road I grew up on historically was part of a tiny village and was under a flock of geese flight path. for years the locals would shoot them from bedroom windows as they flew over. sadly once all the townies moved in they were forced to stop. the local bobby said there had been a number of complaints and if it carried on it would get taken further. I mean, legally it may have been a bit dicey, but equally if I moved into an established community my inclination would be to want to be accepted and just keep my mouth shut rather than start complaining right away.

no skin of my nose, I never liked shooting and don't like goose. my dad was gutted however
 
Cracking muck spreading complaint post this week on the village facebook page. 25/25 comments saying move back to town or similar :)

shooting on farmers fields is just par for the course isnt it? i hope you eat them. corn fed pidgeon is nice. Rabbit too, tho they got largely wiped out recently in my folks neck of the woods.... some new disease worse than myxi i am told.

Hmmm as a country folk with kids I wouldn't like people shooting near my house.
