Log in to your account on the BMW connected drive portal and check that you have the 'Remote Services' option booked.

This is the service you need for those functions.

I would be very surprised if an idrive update is the solution to your issue.

This might have fixed it but I won’t know until I go to the car later after work. I found the remote services option and clicked activate. Everything is activated now so if this is the solution to my problem then thanks so much!

I am currently subscribed to connected package pro until November it says, but it also says it’s not renewable so not sure what that means for me. I checked my idrive version yesterday and it said 2019.60 I think. I’ll confirm later

Its quick and simple, just call the service department and get it booked in.

Hate the fact they need/want the car the whole day for what is just a 20 minutes max update. You should be at least able to book a one hour slot for it and grab a coffee and wait for it to be done.

They've changed the packages again, so you'll need to pick a different one when you renew. This is why you're seeing that message.

The main difference seems to be the removal of map updates from the packages, they are now charged separately.

Just spotted this, was trying to work out why it's now separate. Annoying!

It still doesn’t work :(. My idrive version is 07/2019.30. When I try to update it in the car it says it’s the latest version.

When you say it doesn't work, what happens?

Do you see your car in the app? What happens when you try to use one of the functions?

Remote Services now shows on the website as being active, yes?

I still can't see how an idrive update is going to fix this.

When I load the app I see my car and it says all good at the top. It will say updated from vehicle when I last got into it. So it says 1908.

If I click lock or unlock it will sit their spinning and nothing happens. It will show up as failed in the remote history.

Remote services on the website is enabled and I can’t see any other setting which is stopping it from working.

My iPhone 13 pro max has the latest my bmw app installed. It’s so puzzling why I can’t fix this lol
 
Yeah I did it earlier. I’ll keep checking the app and hopefully it gets pushed to the car then. I’ll still keep my appointment with bmw just incase.
 
Is ditching run flats still a thing/recommended? Got a puncture in rear left on my G31 so that will need replacing, but fronts are due soon too. Wondering whether it may be worth swapping all 4 for non RFT. Got Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 3 RFT at the moment all round which seem perfectly fine to be fair.

Ride and road noise are generally better all round with non RFT tyres, but there's always that chance you'll be stranded if you have a puncture. Carry a can of sealant and an air compressor and take the chance is what most do! Obviously it helps if you have a decent breakdown service too.

Can't remember the last time I had one that wasn't driveable even on my previous non-rft car. Always keep a compressor in anyway and have the BMW warranty roadside assistance to fall back on. Ride and road noise are pretty good even on the RFTs, but I guess the 5 is well insulated in the cabin.
 
Those repair kits are pretty decent too - stuff like these. Fixed a decent hole in the M2 tyre with it, and another in our run-about. Only downside is you have to be able to take the wheel off tbh - doing it in situ is a million times harder.
 
Since having the idrive software updated on my g20 330i the dash isn’t going blue when I put it in eco pro. It’s red in comfort, sport and eco pro. Is this normal now with the latest software or is it a setting I need to change?

local garage was less than £10 last time I had a slow puncture ... rolled it down the road and left with them, but, running at 1 puncture every 12months pre-covid I'd consider insurance on new tyres.
maybe that can now be added into AA or RAC though ?, similar to aforementioned AUC option - was it

I am amazed this has fixed it but glad it has!

I still wonder what was wrong as it still seems unlikely it was just an old software version - otherwise surely everyone would keeping needing software upgrades to continue using the app?

My car is on its factory software and all of my remote features work fine.
