But its the people who change the regimes.

Hurt them enough and they turn. The blame starts with the enemy but after a while it turns to anger at those in charge.
If that were true Tony Blair wouldn’t of won the general election AFTER Iraq.
Which of course he did. Proving that the electorate don’t give a **** about foreign policy.

Weirdly I don’t remember being asked about WMD.

Complicit? Christ we’ll be all complicit in voting for Bojo next. What a ******* stupid thing to say.

Or perhaps they rated other issues more highly. In 2001 and 2005 the economy appeared to be doing really well, for instance.

How many of the 140 million men, women and children in Russia do you want to hurt to achieve your goals?

I mean we know the Russians act differently than us, and that we consider ourselves to be far more morally righteous than them, so I'm genuinely interested in how far you want to hurt civilians to get them to "turn".

I would say severely inconvenience is a more accurate term than hurt. Any non physical means which worsens the quaintly of life of Russians should be used.

He is 100% correct to say that at first it’s likely to strengthen Russian resolve. But over time that situation will slowly change if the pressure is sustained

Going back to how things were before the war started isn’t an option now, and the only way to bring about a new norm is to radically influence Russian public opinion. That isn’t possible through conventional means.

Everybody is okay with stopping Western things going into Russia, so why are people against Russian's being stopped from going into the West ? Stopping them from a holiday in Europe isn't going to make them want to kill all Europeans, if they want that, it was there already in their mindset

Don't really see any good reason to allow Russian people to swan about in EU territory whilst their country prosecutes a war of aggression against Ukraine.

I would support revoking Visa applications for now, until the situation is resolved. The Russian people may not all be to blame, but a large percentage of them appear to support the military action.
