Putin has completely cut off the supply of Russian gas to Europe. This is unprecedented. Hopefully the EU wakes up and starts making great strides toward energy independence.

There goes the cash cow... lol. I'm sure they have other revenue streams, but Russia are largely an oil/gas state.

It also means they have played their last bluff. They cannot reduce gas flow any lower than 0, so provided Europe is able to "weather the storm" through winter etc.. it will leave Russia with exactly 0 leverage on the world stage.

It shows that the sanctions are working. This was Putin's last chance to gain relief, but Europe is staring him down. You love to see it!

Yes absolutely it does.. Regardless of what their puppet state media says, or their twitter bots, It shows they are suffering big time as they have had to resort to their "final sanction" (if you like) of cutting off all gas supply. Trouble is, looks like we may manage to successfully call their bluff.

The second problem this causes for Russia is that since oil / gas are a significant portion of their income, reducing gas flow to 0, also reduces any revenue they would have gotten from that pipeline to 0 with it. They are affectively sanctioning themselves :D :cry:

Well, will they consider this Grim5? After reliable reports of Russia asking North Korea for their military aid? Who are Russia to ask for this, they are the aggressors, they attacked without provocation and prior UN permission. Their claim to the UN is both ludicrous and hypocritical.

Russia is faltering and the war has not gone as expected in their favour, many reasons for this ... Putins military is quite corrupt, high command are scared to report his failures to him for fear of being killed or poisoned, this is the harsh truth in Russia these days and we all know it.

So no, Putin is not entitled to ask UN for any favours at all, especially as Russia under Putin breaks every known Rule in the UN rule book.

IMHO: Putin likes to be seen as the wise Chessplayer in a very dangerous game, what we in the West are doing is calling his bluff, yes its a dangerous game as well, but what else can we do? We should never buckle down to terrorists demands and in IMHO, that is exactly what Putin is, a Terrorist, a sad old has been Dictator Mad man who knows time is short and has no care for anyone but himself and therefore has nothing to lose by playing his last lifes gasp card for his notoriety ... he would not have been the only dictator or mad man in history to do this.

Its really not that complicated, he's a Madman out of control and the sooner this mess ends without further escalation the better.
