I hope they don't stretch themselves so thin, they allow themselves to be counter attacked easily, or even worse... surrounded from pushing too far.

Seems like the Russian's are shell shocked from the counter offensive.

I thought the same but I think intelligence is pretty good, they'll know in advance if anything is coming to reinforce.

Not really sure Russia has much in the area it can re-direct without leaving other areas under-manned, can be sure UA troops elsewhere will be ready to take advantage of any other weakness shown.

I don't think the Russians have the capacity to counter attack in the North, there's been no intel to suggest they have any large reserves or actual soldiers to pull into the area beyond the forcedly mobilized DNR/LNR folk who are fine to sit in a trench as long as the enemy isn't storming it because then they lose all will to fight, which is why we're seeing such epic gains

Apparently (well it looks like him, but who really knows) they've caught the ex-lieutenant general Andrey Sychevoy who was in command of forces during the bombing of Mariupol as well as the bombing of Kharkiv who has presumably been sent to the front as punishment for displeasing glorious leader.

If it is actually him then hopefully the Ukrainians can remain stoic in the face of this mass murderer for him to be shipped off to The Hague where he can face a rather long, embarrassing trial and sit beside his buddies from Serbia.

15k reserves in Belgorod area I believe however Ukraine made huge gains, there videos doing the rounds of convoys heading to Izyum aswell.

I think it show how thin and not prepared they was in the North for counter attack soldiers have just deserted.

As above I hope they are not pushing to far and going to cause burn out in turn ending up being attacked.

Was comparing pictures. Difficult to tell. I'm not so sure it's him. If it is, that would be outstanding.

I'm assuming that means that the RUSSIAN forces are retreating and not the Ukrainians? EDIT: I went and checked the Map, yeah.. that's directly East from Lyman. So it's looking like the Russians can't actually defend properly if pushed. All they have been good for is shell, probe, shell, probe... hope the enemy withdraws.

I suspect Ukraine will find good positions after taking territory and dig in for the counter-attack that will come, because Russian command will order it.

Meanwhile, I think they'll be cooking up an attack elsewhere, they really seem to have Russia at sixes and sevens.

Do they have their men back from the UK yet, or are they still in training? If this is what they can do without the men, what's gonna happen when they start having trained men/women fighting in Western style ?

Not sure, but well rested troops will be more effective, probably some will just be cycled alone the lines to give others a break.

Here's the thing, they knew the Ukrainians were massing forces for weeks up North, there's was loads of discussion in Russian telegram so this isn't a surprise attack, it's amazing how incompetent they really are, you would have thought they might learn by now

Just saw a video of a Russian T-72 fleeing the enemy. It's loaded up with troops on top, and they are falling off all over the place. The tank they crashes into a massive tree. It's been retweeted by BlueSauron.

I think they must have a fair amount back hence this push probably taken over from who was defending.

^the video looks like they was getting shot at by Ukraine troops side of the road why they fell off the top, as when mentioned it a few posts back here why are they going solo with tanks still.
