nice - when the roof box is on how much does that hit A/motorway mpg. , runflat/what tyres. The 30D really is a gem, as is the incredible 8-speed auto. It's also (like almost every car on the road) significantly more economical that the T5 was (42 vs 28) which was also a key consideration for selling the Volvo, now I no longer have a company fuel card!
I haven't done enough motorway mileage yet under similar conditions to come to a definite conclusion on how much the roof box affects MPG. My feeling is that it's something like 2-4 mpg but there are too many other variables such as number of occupants, luggage and traffic conditions for me to be certain about this.nice - when the roof box is on how much does that hit A/motorway mpg. , runflat/what tyres.

It has run flat tires, I have no idea which ones (they are black and round) but when it comes time for new tires, I will be giving some thought as to whether to switch back to regular tires as there is a little bit more road noise than I think this car should have although it's like a Rolls-Royce compared to the Volvo.
Not really, just intriguedWere you really impacted by this issue ?
A couple of months ago, I finally sold on my 03 Volvo V70 T5 after 16 years of ownership and with 176K on the clock. It was a great car but it was time to move on.
Given the state of used prices, I got a good price for it and then paid top dollar (don't ask) for this 2018 G31 530D with 50K from a BMW dealer.
I've wanted a touring for absolutely years, always loved the shape of them (and I always drive estates).
The cabin is a really lovely place to be and the car is a joy to drive and I'm over the moon with my first ever Beemer.
As well as being my first BM, it is (after driving for 36 years) my first ever diesel. I always swore I'd never have one and I don't really do the miles to warrant a diesel but I believe the 30D is the right engine for this car (and for my needs).

(I do sometimes miss the sound of the T5 engine though but I'll get over it).
On top of the M Sport pack, I think (but not 100%) the only optional extra are the comfort seats (and why I bought this precise car). Oh and the MS badge delete which I'm happy with. It doesn't even have electric folding mirrors.
So there you have it. Not a fire-breathing M car, just a lovely car for a guy racing towards 60 who's always wanted a Touring.

Yo,
Looking at various 2015 - 2016 435D Grand Coupe's....
Anything to worry about or look out for? approx 60-75k miles.
Not had a "newer" BMW... only one we have in the family is a E39 M5.
I'll have a look at the 430's. Although, the idea of 300+ BHP was what lured me to the 435The 435d is only available with xDrive. On the 3 Series, this also means you don't get M Sport suspension which impacts on the handling. I can't remember if this was also the case on the 4 Series, but I think it was.
This, combined with the fact they are often a bit cheaper, means that you might also want to look at a 430d as well. This would then allow your budget to get a lower mileage car, meaning you could potentially go for a BMW Warranty which is reasonably priced on a lower mileage 4 Series.

I have a 420iX GC and can confirm it sits noticeably higher. If you're used to a 300bhp definitely go for something similar power wise. I've been driving a m135 hire car and it's so much faster, think my car is going to feel very slow when I get it backI'll be coming from a 300+ bhp mazda 3 mps.
Had it over 5 years, so I'm looking for my next 5 year car. I don't think I'll bet bored easy.
I'll see if there are any 430d around me to have a test. I might find it more then enough.
I take it the xdrive doesn't have m sport suspension?
