Maybe they are just going for their old WW2 brute force tactics and screw the losses. It will hit home a lot more in Russia if it's young professional people getting sucked in and used as cannon fodder.

It would mean that the majority of voters left in Russia were those left behind as being too old to fight, which is probably his voter base..

The fact that sky is all over it, is worrying, when he announced the invasion back in Feb they were all caught off guard so had a delay between him giving his speech and it being translated whilst this is live

They are fairly useless weapons if Ukraine maintains disparity among it's forces as much as possible.

Yeah it could seriously escalate things. Those regions being 'Russian' would easily be a justification for conscription and ramping up.
