More like 4 minutes for us here in the UK.

You're far better off running towards a major industrial / population center and being vaporized in the initial blast, than left to slowly melt from the inside due to radiation poisoning :D
You aren't certain to die in a nuclear war, the radiation in the initial blast area drops quite quickly. Between us we have detonated nearly 2500 nuclear devices and we are still here.

Both Nagasaki and Hiroshima remain as large and populus cities and the weapons used on them were dirty and inefficent - modern weapons will cause much more blast damage, but lower long term contamination.

Ruined countries have pulled themselves together in the past and probably will do in the future.

Hopefully no one will be silly enough to test this out.

Maybe keep the water in you kettle at 90 degrees or more at all times, just so you are ready when the time comes. Don't worry about your energy bills, you won't need to pay them.

I have instant boiling water from my Quooker tap, but the problem is you need to steep the tea for about 2 minutes anyway, and then it's going to be too hot to drink.

Would have to mix it with colder water, which is a big tea no-no usually.

Sends my ******* anxiety through the roof this ****.

Could have lived during the cold war. The nuclear clock was the high spot of the week. Not really, whether it was two minutes to midnight or a few minutes less, most people just got on with things.
