We are a country on its knees financially and funding a war that has absolutely nothing to do with us.

Nothing short of nuclear war is going to stop putin unfortunately

How do you know that? because of what Putin says?

You can't really trust much of anything he says, he just wants people to believe him so that they back down, it's a bluffing tactic they are famous for it.

The Russian people will grow tired of sending people to die for a single mans ambitions, eventually the support for this war will dissolve away, and Putin with it.

We just need to hold the line, which is easier than sending a bunch of conscripts with limited training and equipment against a battle-hardened army like what Ukraine has now.

Pretty damn irrelevant to this conflict, you would not find many here supporting war in Iraq or Syria. This is just the kind of thing people say to distract or deflect from the current situation with Ukraine.

For once this is a conflict for the right reasons, and we need to keep on supporting Ukraine until Russia has grown tired of losing, they can't win whilst we do, so we force them to escalate or step down, and with escalation comes counter-escalation.

We have the nukes they have, we're just not stupid enough to constantly threaten to use them to get what we want.
Not saying anyone supported it my point is the west reduced those countries to rubble and killed millions along the way and no one cared and we left those places and moved on .

Having spoke to Russian friends Who have spoken to family back have said what we are being told by news media is a completely different to what is going on in Russia .

Alright but literally has zero to do with this conflict, so it's irrelevant to the current status of things here and now.

A lot of countries have done a lot of bad things going back in history, but there are examples where the opposite is true, and I think this will go down in the history books as a positive interference and a necessary one.

They were also very different types of conflict.. In both we were effectively the invaders, all-be-it under some pretty naughty circumstances via some very dodgy dossiers.

Ukraine is different, the west is not on the offensive, they are suppling Ukraine with the equipment, training and intel to successfully repel the invading Russian forces.
It is the Russians who are the ones laying waste to Ukraine with the indiscriminate artillery bombardment on shopping malls and hospitals alike.

I'm not so certain - those of an intellectual bent are leaving the country if they can, the rest will keep their heads down when the masses are riled up. Increasingly those that are left will be convinced the West is to blame for their troubles - IMO it will take a long time for them to turn against Putin.

This isn't news to me, they are brain washing their citizens, but you can only brain wash people so far, and a lot of people won't be so far gone they'll want to pick up a gun and go fight in Ukraine willingly.

Yes it could be years, but I don't think they have an indefinite patience to wage this conflict, they will want results, if they don't get them (or indeed they get reversed like they are now) then people will lose support for it.

But it happened and we was lied to much like putin is lying about nazis .No one cared about the poor people in those places but Ukraine gets all the love .

And risk all out war .Vlad told us at the very beginning not to interfere and now he’s backed into A corner and things are going to get very very bad . People are struggling to live in this country and we are funding a war that has nothing to do with us and no matter what we do nothing is going to change . Russia will either take Ukraine or completely destroy it ,that’s the long term outlook .

Theyoden King "I will not risk open war"
Aragorn "open war is upon you, whether you would risk it or not"

Sad truth is that the further removed from a conflict you are, the less it will matter, these places had very little bearing on us directly and weren't on our doorstep, so the same outrage wasn't there.

I repeat though, these are not the same at all, it's apples and oranges you are comparing, and trying to compare them only serves a pro-Russian point of view (who have also been going around and killing people for hundreds of years to gain the size of territory they have now btw).

So it’s ok to bomb the hell out of third world countries and kill millions of innocent civilians along the way then leave when it fails because that’s what happened in both Iraq and Syria not to mention Afghanistan. It’s exactly the same but on another foot so to speak .
