By the time you factor in losing 50% of your invasion force to drop bears, invading Australia really isn't a viable proposition.

Hence why all the flights out of Russia seem to be sold out. It'll only be the poor sods who can't get away that will be dragged in.

Guess they don't want to be a battalion Chechen fighters that have been wiped out from a few missile strikes on their HQ.

That’s incorrect, battlefield tactical warheads tend to be in the 10/20/30kt range, the regiment i use to serve in once upon a time used the Honest John which was a battlefield tactical nuke.

Heard Russians are desperate to flee the country. So much for them backing Putin.

I know I saw a few videos of people saying they were brainwashed into thinking they were doing right in Ukraine. Just goes to show the difference between saying and doing!

Really feel for them. Must be bloody awful not wanting to go to war. I mean serving your country is one thing, being made to go is something else.

Wonder how many defect? I mean being made to go to war at least gets you out of Russia, then hopefully they can escape rather than fight? Surely the Ukrainians would prefer to escort them out rather than to face them in battle.

How long do we think Putin can stay in power?

I think that is correct from a western perspective, most of the tactical devices we have fielded over the years have indeed been lower yield. However there is no real official guidance as to what the yield range of a tactical nuclear weapon must be, its also a bit of a vague term. They have been as much as 200kt in the past, however one must question the use of weapon of the yield in a tactical setting.

From a Russian perspective, they have two prominent tactical ground launch systems, Tochka and Iskander with warheads capable of yields of up to ~100Kt and ~50Kt respectively. The Kinzhal
Air launched missile reportedly has a nuclear capability also, It shares a lot of design with Iskander so I would make an assumption that it would use the same warhead. They also have the Kh-22 which they have used within this conflict, which can also be fitted with a nuclear warhead but that has a yield of 350kt-1mt something i think even Russia might consider a bit excessive...
 
Wonder what the signalling was behind that Russian doomsday plane circling off Estonia - unlike the NATO aircraft they very rarely show in ADS-B when operating like that. It was obviously done to be seen.

Probably just trying to make a point. Like they are saying we have drawn a line in the sand... Considering USA/NATO have been parading such aircraft and other Command and control aircraft with ADS-B activated time and time again over the span of this conflict. I'm surprised we havnt seen it more often from Russia.

Sadly the Russian protestors won't be allowed to carry on, they'll be carted off as usual.

Can't see them getting enough protestors out to actually fight back.
