I wonder if drones had existed in WW1 whether the trenches would have lasted nearly as long? Suppose it would just mean building roofing, but then it's lost a lot of utility as a result leaving concentrations of soldiers in positions where artillery can flatten them.
A counter would mostly involve blocking the signals travelling between the user/drone which is probably much more expensive in addition to being a complex piece of kit that requires specialists that Russia hasn't the time to train and would be inviting an anti-radiation missile to the face as well presumably still at a discount to the cost of the installation.
