I really think a list of a million is probably what you need if you want to get 300k - I can imagine they won't find a large percentage of the list, some will be unfit, some will have an excuse or have a bribe. I woukld be interested to know how many they actually get out of whatever list they have.

Dont forget bone spurs I heard all the coolest ones use them as an excuse

Where do you get this information from? Are you illiterate? Do you need to be pointed in the right direction?

Sure the law may say they get sent to jail for 10/15 years rather than executed, but:
a) that's still a tough decision to make, especially if it's not just that they will be languishing in a diseased brutal prison, but also that they will not be able to sort their family.
b) there are plenty of reports of deserters being shot by their own side.

Just like no conscripts were supposed to be sent with the initial invasion, but were (either pressured to sign papers or papers forged for them), what the law says is one thing, what happens in reality is another. And even if what the law said was true that's not an easy choice for most people I don't think, especially when inside Russia the only information they have heard may be propaganda.

Russin prisons are not an easy way out: https://www.osw.waw.pl/en/publikacj...hind-bars-peculiarities-russian-prison-system
There's a considerable chance that you'll die in one if you're sent there for 10 years.

No idea, someone above suggested it could be a patrol for illegal dinghys. Could also be just keeping an eye out for anything else obvs, but the point I was making was that it was a considerably higher presence than what I would've expected to see.

I don't get it, I mean you could see the same thing on a British beach or a Spanish beach.. one day some fishery protection boats are active or maybe on exercise or whatever.

Russia had a chance in 1989 to change from a country of peasants run by criminal enterprise. It is still a country of peasants run by criminal enterprise. Now they have the added bonus of a trashed economy and a trashed worldwide reputation.

Unlikely, but I wonder if they will rig the vote to go the other way, and Putin can say "well we tried but they voted to stay with the Nazi Ukraine, soz boys off we go home".

No, no they don't (unless you're suggesting taking the option of 10 years in "prison" in a country renowned for its police brutality and gulags is a viable choice?)

Then you are a psychopath
I have given the reasons as to why. I am not apathetic to all people or creatures though.

Thank you for your suggestions, doctor.

I was actually thinking a similar thing but not quite as full on as that. Like set it up so that they lose 1 of the referendums to make the other ones look legit.

Well they can't do it for either of the donbas regions as that would make it immediately obvious that it was engineered (more than it already is), they also can't do it for Kherson or Zaporizhzhia as without Kherson the water will be turned off for Crimea and without Zaporizhia they can't consolidate.

Since they currently don't have a significant chunk of Donetsk or Zaporizhzhia and are at risk of losing more of Luhansk/Kherson it's all rather awkward.

This thing with concription is a bit odd. If conscription service is one year. Then giving a contract to sign in 3months. Is the person a contractor or still a conscript?

The caption on that video is a bit wrong by the way. It's not '2 weeks until training' it should be 2 weeks of training.

They're going to receive 2 weeks of training! Absolutely mental.
