Anyone else thinking "if that was the mini budget I better buckle the hell up for the big one?" :D
I know everyone's calling it a budget, because it was... But it actually wasn't, and doing it that way meant they could avoid official scrutiny... No doubt another major factor that spooked the lefty financial markets.

Yes, I should have said that I was a Tory MP. That way, the rules wouldn't have applied to me.

Or just done what was important to you. I certainly didn't limit what I did based on my own conscience. The idea of letting a family member die alone was something that always struck me as bizarre and utterly inhumane.

And then for people to try and take that frustration out because some #### of a politician didn't follow the rules? Very strange.

Boris will be thinking this is fantastic and he didn't even have to send in an assassin to wreak revenge for their duplicity :) What a carry on, of course all those here asking for people's financial qualifications are OK, their economics acumen will have made sure they haven't overstretched themselves and left themselves open to changes in the market...

yes - not the chancellors fault Lizzy & him are best buddies(could you lend me some sugar - Queen&drone), it's not like Boris&Sunak with some degree of autonomous thinking ... so if anyone goes it's her - Maybe someone will leak the IFS report.

Generally most people are law abiding, it was the law. Your morals/Tory morals may vary.

There's changes in the market, and there's a chancellor throwing a hand grenade.

The budget where they put everyones taxes back up and make income tax 30p you mean.
Personally, if they can cause this much carnage in 2 weeks, I think it's time to take cover and keep your head down.

There were rumours I'm sure you'll have heard about even more tax cuts, can't remember if it was Truss or Kwarteng saying "this is just the begining!".

I would expect now the uturn will be huge. I do hope they do it on a Sunday though (the uturn that is) just to keep up with Johnson's tradition :)

If people didn't realise that there would be serious financial disruption after the Chinese virus and all the money it took to try and bring it under some slight control, develop and issue various vaccines, and hand out money to businesses to keep them afloat (many of which made specious claims and then went bump when challenged to pay it back), plus our now involving ourselves with supporting Ukraine in a proxy war against Russia, then they were naive in the extreme.

The old adage that there's no such thing as a free lunch came to my mind a LONG time ago.
