As long as the next dictator wants to live and have a country to rule over, the west's military power coupled with Russia's newly-exposed lack thereof, should discourage "Special Military Operations" like this for some time.
Even a new tyrant could at least pull out of Ukraine while placing the blame on Putin.

Careful what you wish for, if Putin pops his clogs then Nikolai Patrushev is most likely to take over the reigns and he is an absolute headcase of the highest order of headcases. He makes Putin appear sane and rational.
