I'm glad the news has picked up the section where Truss said letting the Corp Tax rise to 25% will bring in an extra 16 billion (iirc), funny that, as Truss and the "laffer curve" drones have been telling us for months it'd bring in less.

I've seen about a dozen governments come and go in the last 50 years, of all colours, its not only the Tories who have bent me over, they all have at one time or another. It's so true, these political parties can only really change stuff at the edges. They can't change the large macro themes that are challenging all developed countries. Hence why Canada, UK, Australia, France... etc etc. The GDP graphs for the total economy for the past 50 years all look identical

Human nature, I guess, is that we like to pick sides and then argue how our side is better than someone elses side. Yeah I agree. However, considering in general, the right wing of politics is about consolidating wealth, whilst the left is about sharing it (even if policy on both sides isn't always successful) It's mindboggling how many relatively poor people vote against their own interests.
