It’s subjective though isn’t it? Fury quite easily won against Wilder. These things happen. Shields won and she deserved too. But it wasn’t a mismatch like the undercard was. Your being harsh on Marshall. Sorry but that’s how I see it.
But that again proves my point! Who did Wilder ever beat?! He was knocking out cans himself. A Cruiserweight in Spilzka was up on the cards before he got caught, Molina had him ready for the taking, his first step up in Ortiz and he came closed to being stopped until a Dr strangely intervened. He then stepped up against Fury and got even more exposed. I said for years the first skilled fighter Wilder meets will cause him issues and that almost happened with Ortiz.

My point is just having a good knock out rate, like what Marshall has, isn't a full picture when calling fights. She stepped up and convincingly lost. It certainly wasn't as close as Steve Gray had it at 96-94

Yeah I said years ago avoid the right hand and Wilders nothing.

Anyhoo it was a close fight. It wasn’t nothing like Mayweather vs Canelo was it? It was cleaner stuff coming from shields and and the busier stuff coming from Marshall. It wasn’t close to a scholling as you put it.

Well that's 1 fight down from last night. As Pauli says about Wilder. He's a one trick pony but it's a helluva trick

Wilders post fight interview was quite moving

This Deontay " I want a body on my record" Wilder?

Yeah, it did seem a bit hypocritical coming from him but it seemed like in that moment he genuinely cared. I'm not Wilders biggest fan but I do genuinely believe him when he says he and the bronze bomber are not the same.
Either way, brutal knock out. Though I think the Caleb Plant KO was better as the way he set it up was beautiful.

Just about to do some indoor cycling and will watch the Haney fight now. I already know the result but that was always going to be the case. I just hope it's more entertaining than last time.

Shields vs Marshall was the fight of the night though. Mayer/Baumgardner didn't pick up like I though it would but the main event was brilliant. Both women gave it 100% for every round and you just have to respect them for putting it all on the line.

I maintain it was a schooling from Shields though. Marshall could barely land on her and whenever she did land on her, Shields would rally back immediately. Whenever Marshall had her trapped Shields was able to manoeuvre her way out of trouble and counter. If Shields actually had some decent punching power she would be a menace. Marshall's power didn't even come into play as she was never able to land flush. So many shots were on the gloves but the Sky commentary would make it sound closer than it actually was.

Ultimately though, both women shown tremendous heart and put on more of a fight than I've seen from their male counterparts. They all put on a show last night and for me, last night wasn't female boxing. It was boxing and brilliant at that.

Wilder looks so skinny and was moving well shame it's was only one round I would like to see more rounds to see how he would perform with he's new shape.

Wilder is always at his best when he is lighter. I genuinely think he could go down to cruiserweight without too much effort

He's like a heavyweight Hearns (a very budget one) in terms of his lanky build and long arms

I’d like to see him in with Ruiz Jr as he can take a shot. It didn’t look like Helanius fancied it much as it wasn’t a heavy punch, at least it didn’t look like it. He needs to stop fighting these low level guys, he’s been in the game long enough now.

I would like to see hin againts Ruiz Jr and AJ this will be intresting fights.

Parker, Joyce, Hunter, Wallin, Ruiz Jr, Hrgovic ect all decent opposition. In 46 fights he’s only faced Fury and Ortiz as top level fighters. Not very good really especially for a 36yo.
Apparently he wants to have 9 more fights so its a good chance to face those guys i think but time will tell.

A rehabilitation fight but not one that excites me. If DAZN think this can go on PPV they're nuts.

I really hope Crawford vs Spence can be made this year. After Shields vs Marshall putting on a great show I'm hoping we can end the year with a truly elite fight. Domestically I'm quite looking forward to Williamson vs Kelly in December. Should be a decent fight for the British title. I've never liked Kelly, he always seemed a bit too 'flash' but without earning the right to be so. I quite enjoyed watching him get took apart by Avanesyan but I think if he brings his A-Game he should probably have a bit too much for Williamson.

Yes not worth PPV but Crawford vs Spence cross the fingers
