Nvidia: New card for £400 - Options?

I'm in the same boat, missed an opportunity to get a 3060 for £265 because i decided to wait longer, i DO have the 3060ti FE available to buy also but it's definitely over my budget, the 6700 looks tempting though.

I'm in a position where I need a gpu also but struggling to justify 300+ on a 360ti.

Second hand market is likely best

Keeping my hands in my pocket for the moment and see how upcomomg 4000 announcements play out. Just can't stomach the thought of paying over MSRP for a 3000 series card when it is last gen.

This is my issue. I was drawn to a 3060ti but I'd begrudge paying near £400 at this point in time.

 Well, the fire sales on new cards never happened in my range! Just gave up and got a 3060Ti FE direct from the mountains they are no doubt sitting on and dripping out. Was watching for the 3070 FE to show, but it seems forever EOL. Ti variant is a rip-off against it. Should keep me going on 1440p for a good few years. Decided to move after seeing NV shenanigans about 3060 Ti's with tweaked memory as they'll probably find some way to 'relaunch' it at £399.

I did the same, was initially looking at the Asus 3070 TUF and should have got it when OC had it on sale at around £540 or something, but now it's shot up to £630 which seems rather steep. Started eyeing up the 3070Ti FE at £550 but caught sight of a post about the high power consumption vs performance compared to the 3060Ti FE. At £370 it seemed pretty good value in comparison to the 3070Ti FE so I went for it and it arrives today in less than an hour. Looking forward to testing it this evening and seeing what it is like compared to my 1660 Super, especially with VR.

Was that new price or used? Would've been incredible if new.

Brand new from retailer, MSI Ventus 3X with three year warranty, was available for a few days back in August. Kinda regret it now as i'm so desperate to get a GPU and might just end up buying used and keep that for a while.

For used probably £150, would sell it as soon as i find a new one at good price.

Right now I would do that and just get something to game with. Prices are so bad, you're in between gens and things will get better eventually from here, paying over the odds for 2 year old cards is the worst course of action to take.

You should have grabbed that 3060, but you know that now. You won't slip up next time.

:)
