Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare / Warzone (Battlenet ID's in OP)

Managed to get my first win on WZ2 today! Tidy little 12 kill duos game and then picked up a win in trios a few games later as well.

We managed to recruit someone from another team to our team so we had 4 players in trios? It was very strange but basically meant we had a nice advantage.

The new map is ridiculously big but it plays really nicely. Still unsure on what's going on with loadouts vs. buying weapons but overall it's been fun. Proximity chat is a fantastic addition.

I'm not a fan, 90% of people i come across have awful mics with loads of feedback or background noise which means you sometimes can't hear anything. No direction / fading for distance either from what i can gather.

I think this is the first COD I've been tempted to pick up in a while, I'm not seeing as much hate as normal after a release. Going to download WZ first have see how it goes

I guess you can quite easily turn it off by changing your voice settings to 'friends only' or 'party only' so it doesn't have any death comms or prox chat.

In the duos game I won earlier I could hear this team talking to each other and one of them started whispering because he was worried about prox chat.

Presumably they can still hear you though?
Not if you've got voice chat set to only friends or party. I did it part way through the original Warzone as I found the death chat was a bit off putting and wasn't the biggest fan of someone screaming in my ear after we downed them.

Death comms is the best thing about Warzone. Proxy chat the second best

A solos earlier a guy said "let's make a deal, we don't shoot each other" I said "ok" He proceed to creep around for a bit before I find him on HR scanner. He shoots and hits be taking a plate but then I retreated and rinsed him with a fennec.
Downed is shouts, "don't kill me, dont kill me" it was the same guy. I then said "you shot first and broke the deal" then BBQd him with a stick of thermite

A lot more satisfying with proxy comms as you sort of know your enemy.

Some people genuinly just want to have fun, I guy on comms said after a minute talking said "lets go for a spin" We found a chopper and he started flying it but another guy must have heard and killed us both when he also joined.

Is it just me or does this feel like it was made for smartphones and scaled up along with awful movement framerates? I'm a huge, huge fan of WZ but one day in and i'm really not sure if itll be resident on my laptop for much longer. the ability to hold items, how they look on the ground (1d flat) etc seems to me like they changed it for the sake of changing it rather than moving to something even better looking. The menu system to pick up kit etc seems more convoluted too. Its not all negative, I do like that you can swim and vehicles have limited fuel, on smaller maps mightn't make so much of a difference but it stops some guys constantly driving looking for roadkills.

I'm going to give it the weekend and see if it becomes any less of a stuttering, laggy mess.

What are your specs / settings you're running in the game?

I've honestly not had any issues with performance, frames are consistently sitting above 140+ for me at 1440p and the occasional stutters I had during launch day on MW2 aren't appearing.

How do you recruit people to your squad?

I think they have to request? And then you press E or up on the d-pad. Or it happens when you're interrogating them (not sure if you've done this yet) but after you down them you can interrogate them to reveal their teammate's locations and then also gives them the chance to join your squad.

Are, will wait for someone to request (or the option to)
Thanks

Nope.
Though if the server you're on has 100ms+ latency then you might aswell be playing at 10fps.
Good GPU, good CPU and 100fps+ maxed in ultrawise / 4k its beautiful

As a few others have said, the menu system is atrocious. Truly atrocious. Even simple things involve a stupid number of clicks and "submenus". Its designed like its been made by someone who has never seen a PC game in their lives.

Gunplay is decent though but still annoyed by the yet another desert map aesthetic. Maybe I just need to wait for a map change

Haven't played CoD for ages and never really got into Warzone but I'm really enjoying DMZ so far. (Tarkov lite)
Would be nice to find some people with mic's

I was one of those people, I hate it! It's a damn chore

Had fun in DMZ trying to solo extract the m13.

Was driving round the area where he spawns mowing over the bots when another player crashed into me in a lorry, setting my jeep on fire. I jumped out and dived behind cover just as my exploding jeep took him out

Killed a load more bots when another player appeared and went into the house where the chemist was. Managed to take him out amongst the chaos of seemingly infinite spawning bots and the chemist legged it.

Jumped in the truck the player had left, squished the chemist but there was so much loot on the ground I couldn't find the gun while dodging an insane amount of gunfire from bots.

Then some swine ran me over.

Fun times
