That is the general idea.

I think there's a stronger link although they are drawing the line with nuclear trash talking that would destabilise the region.

Pretty much. China won't get directly involved as things stand, it wouldn't make any sense from their perpective, if you take a logical/subjective view.. they are just watching how it plays out for the time being.
 
The Britain importing oil thing isn't real news from what I've read. Not sure why we're specifically being mentioned.

Apparently we're following the same sanctions as the rest of the EU, and the oil sanctions don't kick in more fully until early December.

Beyond that, I think even if we do buy any oil it's capped at how much we pay to meet cost of production without giving profit to Russia.

Also China needs people to buy all the goods they make. To fund their economy. It's not all about war, it's an interweaved global logisical and commercial issue.

A lot of people seeem to forget that. China could bomb the EU and the US, but then who would buy all thier ipads, and graphics cards if they kill all thier customers? They might be many things, but they are not stupid and they need trade.

Once you’ve destroyed your enemies, why would you need a high tech economy? Just get the peasants all working the rice fields again.

The same reason why Europe believed Russia would never invade; the idea that once you give them a taste of the west they will never want to leave - meaning once you show them all the nice things and luxuries of a modern society and life, they will not want to go back to the old way of life. Russia proved that wrong, Putin is happy to take them take a hundred years.

Russia is just the latest example, but its not a new phenom. Look at Iran; cosmopolitan capital city and then they decided to rewind the clock a few hundred years.

The Russians are ******* deluded if they think Ukraine will even consider agreeing to such a thing. Ukraine has good supply of top notch NATO winter gear.

All Ukraine has to focus on is murdering as many Russians as it can over winter.

At the current casualty rates; They will have burned through those 30,000 good troops they saved from Kherson which got moved to Donbas in around 45 days.

Just keep laying down those HIMARS rockets and juicy drone drops and father winter will take care of the rest :3.
